Yep,

The storm's a brewing.

Trump has staked his position that late term abortions are going to end, while some states are trying to beat him to the punch by legalizing infanticide. Legalizing killing even after birth.(which is already common, just not legal)

We ARE living in the age of Sodom and Gomorrah.

What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

Then they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and practiced divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him.

"You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.

Transfer that thought ... that life of avarice is an abortion ...

Thus statutes ... we have to institute such edifices!

The vast majority of late term abortions are done for compassionate reasons because of serious medical issues. As I understand the Centres for Disease Control (a reliable source of statistics) report fewer than 1% of abortions are performed AFTER viability. Usually a late term abortion is performed because the baby has such serious deficits that it is expected it will die before birth, at birth, or shortly after birth. Most babies that have been carried that far into a pregnancy (past the early 20 week mark/or viability) were very wanted and their loss is an utter devastation for the parents/family, and the woman carrying the child in particular. The emotional blackmail that specific conservative groups are playing with this particular issue borders on cruel.

I sickens me that people (often men) in power take something that is an intense moment of grief and loss and turn it into something it isn't for their own political gain or agenda. Similarly I am sickened that groups with a specific agenda would use late-term abortion, which is almost always synonymous with child loss, for their particular agenda.

The whole abortion debate isn't about protecting life. Conservative pro-life groups have repeatedly demonstrated they care little about life after birth. Abortion control is all about controlling women's reproductive and sexual lives.

Thank you for all the great misinformation. especially the end part here, because you have no way of knowing a person's motivation for being against murder.

You further discuss the issue of infanticide. Ending the life of a neonate is considered only when a highly compromised infant is sustained on life support. Ending life support is chosen because the child is a) suffering, b) expected to die, or c) so neurologically compromised that there are serious concerns about the child's health and/or quality of life. Even in the last case many parents choose NOT to discontinue life support and care for a profoundly challenged infant. I am one of those parents.

Once again the whole discussion about termination of life support for neonates is so complex, nuanced, and emotionally charged that is is patently unfair, and frankly cruel, to simply throw a Bible passage at the situation and think it addresses the concern. It is not black and white and will never have easy answers.

Thanks for all the great comments that are going to gradually be refuted on this thread. By actual people like Millie above, who can get a late term abortion, no problem. Not due to any of your requirements - just cough up the cash. Abortion, you will see, is all about money.

There are over 3000 abortions every day. The same approximate loss of life every day as 9-11. These are nothing like your situation. Just sacrifices to the god of convenience.

There have been over 6000 times as many killed since 9-11 in abortion clinics. Shouldn't there be 6000 times the outrage? Well, there is some action now in both directions. Pretty much left vs right. It should be documented as the war unfolds.

Sooo .. just yesterday I read this interesting post. Not specific to late term abortion, but certainly taking a different perspective on the issue of abortion as a result of unwanted pregnancy - which I acknowledge is very different than the reasons one might consider late term abortion as DaisyJane skillfully notes above.

It's a bit of a long read & one is challenged to keep an open mind in order to consider what many would consider a radically different view on the matter of unwanted pregnancy & abortion. I found it thought provoking for sure. I don't fully agree with all that she has posted, but it did give me pause to consider & question how we typically view this issue. She ends with a question - "What could we do as a society to have men shoulder the burden of preventing unwanted pregnancies?"

Interesting...
So if men(probably white) are 100% responsible for every unwanted pregnancy, doesn't it seem right that they should also be 100% responsible for making any decision on the outcome of that pregnancy? Isn't that what responsibility is?

Interesting article....only one thing she said is misleading....You can only get pregnant two days a month.....WRONG!!!!

Yeah, it's technically true in a perfect world but reality is a bit more complicated than that since the lifespan of sperm, variations in the release of ova, and such come into play. Your chance is highest if you hit the right days (as those who have struggled to get pregnant know), but it's not 0 on other days. Otherwise, the rhythm method of contraception would be 100% successful.

I wonder if Trump has paid for any his paramours' abortions? He probably has.

Oh, if only that would come out. The evangelicals are already not entirely comfortable with some of his policies. Something like that might be the thing that gets them to sit on their hands rather than elect him again.

The "family values" voters already don't care that he had affairs with porn stars, has been divorced and remarried twice, has kids from 3 different marriages, or that the First Lady posed nude in a magazine.

It's a sham. All they care about is $. Those politicians when it comes down to it don't care about abortions - they care about $ and power and "winning".

They don't really care about women's lives. I don't believe they really care about those "unborn children's" lives very much either.

No chance. He said this abortion thing, not as an election promise, but as the sitting President.
