I thought there was a minimum number of characters for a post???????

Hmm.

&./ looks some kind of smiley. Can't find it in any smiley dictionaries, though.

Maybe it's ... a secret message. He's being held captive by a mysterious organization in the bowels of the college and hopes we will rescue him! To the batpoles!

(okay, now I'm just being silly)

Clearly a theological statement.

"&" is the symbol for "and." It refers to something more; something to be added. It is a symbol for the richness of life in Christ - abundance and vibrancy. It is the reminder that without Christ something is lacking; missing. There is an emptiness without Christ. A void to be filled. A loneliness to be consoled. The void can be filled and the loneliness consoled only by Christ, who is God with us, and from whom we can never be separated. He is THE addition to our lives that makes our lives fulfilled.

"&" is deep and rich theologically.

I see a potential sermon title.

Thank you Pr. Jae for inspiring such thought today.

I stand corrected.

Ah. Yes. Again - deep.

"&." clearly refers to the life of Jesus of Nazareth, with the "&" denoting the richness he brought into the world and the "." representing his crucifixion. "/" is a reference to the three days he spent in the tomb (a sort of interregnum or interruption) with the "&" now being a concluding point and indeed a signpost - a deeper thought representing the resurrection and ascension and pointing us to the promise of his return. In other words, there is more to come!

Hm. Could one re-write the whole Bible using just symbolic language? The RSV - Revised Symbolist Version.

Sure could if it wasn't for the anti-symbolists that hate icons ... once known as Semites ... and thus the derivation of evolving Semitics -- Dan Brown as roasted by the institutionalized!
