And, really, that's not a bad thing. The scary ones are the ones who don't suck at promoting these beliefs and get rich off of them.
 
We don't get those here. We get unsafes, and then we used to get Berserk who was a better writer but was entirely unlikable and had all the personality of wet cardboard. He'd have been dangerous with a helping of charisma.

I see discernment

If you want to see division, that will tend to cause you to see division?

Similar to how one likes someone will make the difference between "this person is stubborn" and "this person has strong principles" with the same person?

You have a tendency to generalize from a specific instance in our chats, to go from a specific instance to "see?? all people are this way"

Instead, sister, look at how Mendalla replied.

Try to treat each of our replies as individual and specific instances?

She has been promoting her cult at WC for at least 15 years now? Something like that. And that's fine. But it has to be noted that she is a cult member, promoting her cult despite little to no traction gained in that time. Do we sell fish to promote Friday ... or is that the other way around to assist a poor fisherman ... that was just out gathering what he could ... included some hard fish ... cockles and mussels? Lord what a presentation to get hung up with ... how to crack a mystery!

Do you think more malevolence towards women of diverse varieties is happening with a coalescence (a lovely sounding word while describing a not so good thing) of different patriarchal belief systems - whether religious or esoteric or eccentric or technocratic - these days? I feel like there’s a strong undercurrent of this that is really feeding authoritarian politics and conflict, as propaganda.

This, I believe is true across the board, whether theological or social. I think we're at a critical juncture with patriarchy in the west. The part personally most frustrating is that there seems to be little will to evolve into our full humanity because there's a tendency for those in power to keep it, even if it means keeping others down forcibly, either by law or social constraints, or physically.
 
I have never understood how the sense of power derived from making someone else small can be satisfying
 
Be it a tidal wave or an explosion or the like, there is always a backlash that can often be more destructive. So it is when the backlash of gained freedoms becomes tyrannical in itself. It will take time for the two to settle out.

Sorry, I'm autistic and don't have a clue what you just said because it's too abstract. How would that look in real life? And how would it be "more destructive"? How would we know that? What bad things would happen?

Sure, or women's rights, or kids in school being taught they have rights instead of responsibility. Christianity also. They suddenly often go from being freed to becoming tyrants.
