Bashaw School did a 24 Hr Musical challenge so from 4 pm yesterday (after a full day of school) the students then spent 24 hrs (with food and rest breaks) learning and rehearsing a musical which they performed at 4 pm today (there's another show at 7 pm) - audience didn't know which show till we arrived (The Little Mermaid Jr) - some had to have their scripts in hand, some needed lots of prompting, some made some hilarious errors (which made the show even better than if they'd gotten the line right), and it was a blast! So much fun and laughter. Cast of 22 kids. It was a fundraiser for the volleyball teams. After I stopped at the Chinese restaurant to get an eggroll as it's been about a year since I've had one! Owner said he was buying it for me so I got it free!

Blustery snowy March morning so I made some more potato chips. I wanted to do some baking but don't quite have enough energy. Darn time change!
I might have enough potatoes to make one more batch.

That sounds like a fun event. May I share the basic idea with other schools? I think our local school's drama group would enjoy something like that.

Lucky day for egg rolls too.

Sure. :) I don't know if it's something they just did on their own or if there is already an organized way to do this that they found.

LAST of the potato chips with my own potatoes. :) I have 3 large potatoes left that I have other plans for.

35 mins chipping ice off my sidewalk. I only managed to get 3/4s done before my arms gave out, but it's better than it was.

I made a Guinness chocolate cake today, from a random recipe I found on the internet.
It has a cream cheese white frosting on top, so the sliced cake even looks like a glass of Guinness.
I used "Guinness Zero," which I quite like (even though it's the same price as alcoholic Guinness.)

Guinness cake? Interesting. I had a pint of the classic in the actual Guinness brewery. Part of my tour of the UK and Ireland a few years back. Not really a beer person myself but thought it worth a try. My son was into stouts at the time (this was before he started up a relationship with his Muslim wife) and wasn't with us so I drank it on his behalf.

I have no Irish blood, but I like to experiment with Irish recipes around St Paddy's Day.
(And a Guinness chocolate cake is not a traditional Irish recipe.) The LAST time I tried to make a Guinness cake,
it was an utter failure. The cake was way too bitter, and the icing was a Bailey's Irish Cream frosting, and it was
horribly too sweet.
But this time, this recipe turned out beautifully. The chocolatey cake was rich, with just the slightest hint of
bitterness from the stout (which paired really well with the chocolate and vanilla notes and made it overall delicious.)

Tonight I'm making an Irish Skillet Dinner (which is a traditional Irish recipe.)
I'll be sauteing and then roasting chicken with onions, potatoes, and cabbage.

AH ... many fall back into oat cakes as simpler and often more nutritious ... draws guile -ish gourds out of the hills for filling with ... as you wish ... right off the slope with that stone pusher! There she was coming round the mound ... cultivating a flame ...

Cathar ... conclusions?

I guess I'm inspired by the Moderator's Lenten video series, "Bless, Break, Share" on YouTube.
This is a series about studying the food stories in the Bible.
Last week, Aaron Gallegos made Coptic Chickpeas with Moderator Kim.
Some of you might remember Aaron as the main administrator with the original Wondercafe.
