Nope, and I was awake and up, probably nosing about here or playing a stupid game, so presumably if there was anything to feel, I would have felt it. My house is a pretty solid little bungalow, though.

I couldn't live on the Prairies due to the flatness and the accompanying wind. I think it would drive me mad. It's funny what you get accustomed to (like fecking feet of snow in my case).

Gen Z is Leading Church Attendance

Nor I. Timothyu, you may wish to revisit definitions of God before you make definite statements.

    Dealing with the winter blues

It has largely been my position in iife that no matter what one's position on god, it behooves one to be thankful to eat. I have never had to use a food bank, bur I remember a week in my children's lives when I had to declare egg salad sandwiches for lunches all week, to which my son replied...

    Dealing with the winter blues

When my kids were growing up, once we were on our own, we had two books of prayers to choose from for grace. One was fairly traditional, a small book from my very Catholic uncle, the other was titled "short prayers for long days"; kids always grabbed the latter.

    Dealing with the winter blues

I add my welcome, GO3838! But I have the winter blues for practical reasons. Damn near killed myself dragging garbage, etc. bins to end of driveway today. Still have a flat tire. It is my job to shovel the porch, and there is NOWHERE TO PUT THE SNOW. Watching snow fall currently makes me cry...

CARNEY - Some people think......... How do you feel?

    Toward 2035

I am, by nature, an anxious person. I am a happy member of a left-leaning UCC congregation for several reasons: - they accept me as I am; no-one expects beliefs or faith from me - I don't think I have ever been made to feel guilty; my own conscience gives me guilt on about three occasions: i)...

    Toward 2035

I am openly non-theistic. But I lead a progressive theology group, attend a weekly bible study, and I was the chair of the Faith Formation & Christian Education Team until I resigned, feeling I had done my bit. I couldn't tell you what my minister's personal beliefs about "God" are, but I can...

    Spiritual vs religious

Which is why the trend in many progressive circles to use the word "kin-dom" instead.

    Room For All

I'm seriously hoping to be spared a big dump of snow. Big guy left this morning and won't be back until Wednesday afternoon, so I'll be on my own with that sodding monstrous snowblower, which does not go well.

    Toward 2035

I disagree. I find the common elements of our weekly service very comforting: Welcome & announcements, territorial acknowlegement/christ candle, first hymn/greet neighbour, opening prayer, anthem by choir, children's story, hymn, scripture, hymn sermon quiet reflection, offering, prayers of the...
