Boy names?

I don't tend to think of Biblical names as Biblical names as much as I think of them as traditional, old fashioned, Anglo Saxon names - oddly - all of the men in my traditional Anglo Saxon side of my family have them - as do other families like mine - and no offence to my dad and my brother and my uncles, and all the Johns and Daves and Mikes and James' (Luke is the least common. Luke's a nice name) but kind of boring names. And the Old Testament names I didn't even really clue in were OT names. I guess I knew by high school, but it didn't leap to mind. Most of them, boys ones, I like the sound of. I went to school with an Elijah - Eli- and I actually just thought that was a cool name. I don't think he was from a religious family - I think anything goes. And the Josh (es) I knew were cool dudes. Same with the Jareds. Again, I don't think their parents had the bible in mind anymore than all the Daves I know (yes, these are the Daves I know I know. These are Daves I know  - sorry couldn't resist).

It probably won't be a biblical name. I didn't think I'd actually have to type that.

Asher is in the running, I'll say that much. I kinda want Archer, partly because of the show, which is witty as hell.

Asher is biblical. So is John, David, Paul, Dan, James, Thomas. (And for girls: Elizabeth, Ann, Mary, Sarah, Dorcas, etc. )
Actually, when you consider all the derivatives (John = Sean, Shawn, Jean; James = Jim, Jamie, Jake) it might take some checking to be sure you don't have a biblical name.
My daughter gave her first-born a biblical name. Chatting with her roommate in the hospital they compared names.
Seelergirl: Oh, you chose a biblical name too.
Roommate: I didn't know it was biblical.
The name: Miriam

How about Aster Hansen.

If you like A names, how about Anthrax Hansen.

As what rises (buoyed) from Asher of Miriam ... the muttering Phoenix ? Scatological remarks about monarchists! A commentary about those disloyal to god's self proclaimed rightists? They generally all believe in war and burned earth policy and will fight at the drop of the upper tier (hat) that will take off in the wind ... a flyer! This is a sacred icon of thoughts taking flight in areas where the authority couldn't stomach them and thus a lot of regurgitation of conservative laws that may not be pragmatic ...

In a Kohl, dark domain one should fight for your hat if nothing else as a splendid private property for cover-up of things that bug yah ... are there para sites in the Arch Dick ...?

Can't use our own names huh? Well that takes at least one gem out of the running.

Are derivatives also prohibitted? Sean? Jock?

Jock Hansen. Sounds pretty rugged and excessively masculine to me.

The best name that has been suggested thus far was mine of Anthrax Hansen. Really, there's no more need for this thread to continue. Anthrax it is.

I even went to school with a guy named Laz - Lazarus - no idea then that it was a biblical name but I liked it.

Scandinavian names to go with Hansen? There's Thor. I even knew a guy named Thor and he had long blond hair - lol! He looked like his name, on purpose. Jesper, pronounced "Yespa" is another Scandinavian name of someone, I knew when I was younger.
