I don't tend to think of Biblical names as Biblical names as much as I think of them as traditional, old fashioned, Anglo Saxon names - oddly - all of the men in my traditional Anglo Saxon side of my family have them - as do other families like mine - and no offence to my dad and my brother and my uncles, and all the Johns and Daves and Mikes and James' (Luke is the least common. Luke's a nice name) but kind of boring names. And the Old Testament names I didn't even really clue in were OT names. I guess I knew by high school, but it didn't leap to mind. Most of them, boys ones, I like the sound of. I went to school with an Elijah - Eli- and I actually just thought that was a cool name. I don't think he was from a religious family - I think anything goes. And the Josh (es) I knew were cool dudes. Same with the Jareds. Again, I don't think their parents had the bible in mind anymore than all the Daves I know (yes, these are the Daves I know I know. These are Daves I know
- sorry couldn't resist).
