No, not Halloween. Time to change clocks. Well, maybe change the clocks. It all depends where you live now and it is, to be honest, getting messy. I mean here in Ontario, the part that is Eastern Time still changes but the northwest, which is in Central, is going to follow Manitoba and stay on Central Daylight Time year-round. And there's a region in northern Quebec hat is staying on Daylight Time year-round but the rest of the province is changing. And ... yeah. Gack. Here's a summary of the situation going into this weekend from the National Post.

Yeah... We don't go in for that nonsense here in Korea
Nor does China. China doesn't even bother with time zones. The whole country runs on Beijing time. Which creates its own set of problems. Consider trying to run all of Canada on Eastern time.

All of Korea's on KST. Seems to work well

Korea isn't that wide from East to West though, though. The average 300km East to West width (yes, I checked) is around the distance between London and Peterborough in Ontario. I've driven that in half a day or less. So a single time zone is exactly how Korea should be run.

The problem in countries like China, Canada, and the US is that we are so wide from East to West, there is significant difference between when the sun rises on the East side of the country vs. the West. There's a reason Vancouver is 4 hours behind Halifax, in other words. Ditto the 3 hours difference between NY and LA in the US. Dealing with that distance without time zones involves staggering work hours and things like that, which results in basically the same thing expressed in a different way.

If we run on eternal time (god's?) there would be night people and Dais people and always someone in a cycling of black and white ... but then some can't see it no matter what!

It is like ignorance ... they just wouldn't get me ... because they didn't even glance ...
