The possum that lived last spring in my shed was not an unpleasant house guest. Quiet, didn't eat anything I didn't want eaten, never saw her.

Yeah, my brother used to live at a camp where he was property manager. Possums were just neighbours for them, IIRC.

I stepped on a (hopefully dead) small creature this morning when I was in the garden before I realized it was there. Fingers crossed it was the mole. I'm waiting for the farmer friend who set the trap to come look as I refuse to get close to it again to find out and I definitely am not going to deal with it. Shudder.

It was already dead when I stepped on it. I didn't kill it by stepping on it.

of course she does. then she bakes them into cookies, pies, muffins, etc. her cooking Looks greAt but there are beaSTies in it

I do not bake beasties, especially garden beasties...only flora goes into my baking.
