So what's happening in Canada that piques your interest these good old days?

Budget 2025?

BC court affirming Cowichan title?

Poppy Ban Debate?

This thread is open for uniquely Canadian context.

I am finding the Property Title disputes interesting - though I don't really understand the nuance of it all.

Flash Back:

Remarks by Mark Carney
Governor of the Bank of Canada
to the International Economic Forum of the Americas
Conference of Montreal
11 June 2009

The theme of this conference—“Adapting to a New World Order”
Conclusion:

There is every reason that Canada should be among the first to implement the agenda that I have described today. Through such leadership, we can do our part to create a more responsible, resilient globalization.

Does this line up with Budget 2025?

All is nuance ... a bit cloudy because of what we "know for sure!"

It just isn't so ... because of having mental limits! Some get it ... determining factor, or a factor in determination?

I am not sure about that ... others say they have the entire thing in hand ... and still others "believe"!

In the meantime ... a point in the medium ... if you observe ... not much is believable! Mortals base much on what lies in the ground of being ... dirt and mire ... thus a portion are baffled by mortal behaviour! It appears to have no end ...

The Canadian military's Defence Mobilization Plan (DMP) to boost its ranks by 300,000, including training federal public servants, appears to be more than just a suggestion but has not yet been fully implemented or officially confirmed as a finalized policy.

Based on the available information, the Canadian military's Defence Mobilization Plan (DMP) to expand the Supplementary Reserve, including the training of 300,000 federal public servants, relies primarily on voluntary enlistments.

This could happen as early as late 2025 or early 2026, depending on legislative and preparatory progress.

Start monitoring these channels if you want to be among the first to apply when the opportunity arises!

  • Local Engagement: Contact your nearest CAF recruiting centre (find locations on forces.ca) to express interest and get early notice.
  • News Alerts: Set up Google Alerts for terms like “Canadian Defence Mobilization Plan” or “Supplementary Reserve enlistment.”

relies primarily on voluntary enlistments
Which will likely be its downfall. Countries with large, active reserves tend to be ones that make it mandatory (Israel, Switzerland, some of the Nordic countries). Very few in Canada want to put in the time to do military training as a career, let alone give up their leisure and work time for it. Else we'd have a much bigger standing military and reserves. But introducing mandatory reserve service would likely bring down the government. So we'll keep muddling through, maybe offer more pay for time spent on training in hopes of attracting people that way.

The above post highlights a real Department of National Defence directive from early November 2025, proposing voluntary one-week training for up to 300,000 federal and provincial public servants in basic skills like firearms handling, truck driving, and drone operation to bolster the new Supplementary Reserve.

This reserve expansion addresses chronic Canadian Armed Forces recruitment shortfalls—down 16,000 active personnel since 2021—enabling surge capacity for emergencies without mandatory service, as outlined in the unclassified nine-page policy document.

How the Training is Outlined

  • Duration: The training is specified as a one-week course, as noted in the Ottawa Citizen article and the original post by Kirk Lubimov. This suggests a condensed, introductory program rather than an extensive military curriculum.
  • Voluntary Participation: The directive emphasizes that participation is voluntary, targeting public servants who opt into the Supplementary Reserve. After initial training, they are required to undertake one week of additional training annually to maintain readiness, though they will not be issued uniforms unless activated.
  • Directive Source: The plan is detailed in a DND directive signed by Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Jennie Carignan and Deputy Minister Stefanie Beck on May 30, 2025.

More on Budget 2025’s new Buy Canadian Policy:
“Budget 2025 is our plan to build Canada Strong – with major infrastructure projects, millions more homes, new defence industries, and thousands of new high-quality careers all across our country. As we build big and bold, we will build Canadian and buy Canadian. We will be our own best customer, creating new orders, more business, and new careers in our industries across the country.”

Will many folk be blind to the circumstantial presentation as a dark instance of political dreamer-ae?

Such visions drive tyrants over the brink ... and thus security as private bother's ... a pain? Hoo Dah thought ... then everything rested ... as if something got up and left ... and that's how she goes ... the opposed! Put your Sweet Lips up ... there be a word folded up in there ...

While in reality nothing is rational and so we waste prodigally! Like summer heat when the cutting edge of froid appears ... more Jung, or further Jun que! Archie is typical of what needed to be confined ... a type?

Not good. Nothing about any of it.

Mortals appear as designated for creative pain to amuse the upper castings! It is like the Pharisee/Sadducee activity in the eyes of the Sanhedrin --- few understand this crap as a wordy hi*story ... blind to the bulk of it! Hei Day arrives ... as Denali!

It is like High Noon with all the attachments, etc.

Nothing is guaranteed ... in short you can guarantee nothing because of mist factors ... all is cloudy because of the great numbers that wished not to know ... and here we are (with a few exceptions)!

Then there is the court of the great out there ... Sanhedrin? In other worlds it may be beyond us ... Skye Country!

Canadian Food Inspection Agency may have crossed a line they can't uncross.

Many souls drifting off in grift as the swindling occurs! Lives are given up for wealth ... on the other side alternate wealth ... being WOKE? Some never get there because they wouldn't go that far as knowledge is said to be evil ... Wet ego or windy goes!

Mire essence ... without a clue ... the learning curve when you note that you lost IDE!

The theme in the Notebook!

You know something isn't there ... like Broom in One Flew ... and thus gone! Ova?

Scott-Heron argued that political action is not spearheaded by political figures, rather common, everyday individuals.

“you will not be able to to stay home, brother / plug in, turn on and cop out,”

Scott-Heron defended that individuals, cannot utilize entertainment media or news outlets as a means to distract themselves from the systemic abuses occurring in their real lives.

“the revolution will not be televised,” “the revolution will be live,”

Revolution is an active, not passive movement.

His songs captured the frustration many activists, felt toward institutions that claimed to represent them but often worked to suppress or co-opt real change, but also the passivity of many individuals and lack of action from them to change the status quo and influence societal progress.

Scott-Heron conveys that political action is not entertainment, and civil rights movements in the 60s and 70s were driven by community organizing and tangible movements, not media portrayals of them.

Reality is denied by a number of folk ... making one wonder if the abstract has some reality entangled ... this would account for a lot of mix-up's and stirs! Mental swirls ...

Yes I realize that. He stood up for things entirely different from what you do though. Pretty much the opposite, actually. He was socialist, anti-capitalist, pro-human rights.

But also, he did entertain while storytelling, obviously.
