Interesting and disconcerting, with some hope, still, that better natures will prevail. They will, eventually, but this is the pits.It will be interesting to see how this plays out. There's certainly a lot of theories flying around.
History just echoes and echoes, doesn’t it? Weird to observe if you can (barely) stomach it, eh Luce? It’s painful to watch yet important to see, somehow.
Is he still holding the UFC cage fight on the WH lawn? Isn’t that “political violence”? for sport but still a display of violence - men are purposely hurting each other in a violent show of strength, to hype up MAGA supporters - it’s being sponsored by the president and the WH, it can’t ’not’ be political. Like Roman gladiators. If only it was satire.
Perhaps they'll listen now."It all happened on a stormy, stormy night ..." stellar nova?
Governor Cox is taking a harder-right tone now, sounds closer to Trump.
The shooter doesn’t seem like he had a coherent ideology. He’s 22, was raised in a gun loving Republican household, and was a product of video game and meme culture. It’s not particularly “leftist” ideology. It was just senseless violence, and now, a reason to stifle legitimate criticism.
I just found this again by accident. Good call, but cold comfort! While I know some might like to write Trump off as a glitch or aberration, he is not. He is the logical outcome of the growing polarization of society and politics. You can see roots of it going back to the rise of the Christian Right under Reagan and the battles over the Clinton scandals, not to mention the Tea Party. And I think that is how he will go down in history, as a symptom of a much older, and more dangerous, disease in US politics and society. Sadly, that means he may also be remembered as the point where things really started to unravel. Yes, I am suggesting that it could still worse. I hope not, but the current fiasco does not exactly give me hope.
The Heritage Foundation have been at it since the days of the Moral Majority. This has been in the works for decades.
Tim Alberta has a good book that he wrote about evangelicals in the US. It's quite enlightening.
The question is no longer who pulled the trigger but who paid for it.But we are told that....and with Trump controlling alot of the media....who knows?
Nope. I don’t blame them for doubting. Two young black men were found hanging from trees in Mississippi. Their deaths are being deemed to not be suspicious. Of course there's plenty of talk of lynching right now. It doesn't appear that people believe the "not suspicious" part.
Has anyone else heard this through the Kirk stuff?
