I have spent a few hours today trying to knit. Not a great success story so far. Surely there is a perfect weight and colour yarn that I can handle??? So far there isn't such a combination in my stash.
Hopefully you can find something that works for you

What weight and colour are you using now? Worsted might work. Lighter colours are usually easier to see. Good luck.

Hoping you can find a way to make knitting a bit easier, Kay; it sounds like something you enjoy. Good luck!

Except plum pudding for Christmas. And, of course, fruit cake.
Those things are traditional eats at Christmastime too, Redbaron. But not for Christmas Dinner. At that great meal, anything less than Pumpkin Pie with Fresh Whipped Cream is wholly unacceptable

I think the only pies we have ever had at Christmas are mincemeat. Besides shortbread cookies and fruitcake, we have had squares and various cheesecakes, butterscotch dessert (aka "sex in a pan" and variations thereof), and similar.

However, enough about dessert. My glucometer is getting cranky. Just talking about it is raising my glucose.:giggle: Let's just be LAST, shall we.

Those are awesome choices too Mendalla. While pumpkin is pretty wonderful, there's lots of choices to make the glucometer cranky. :)

We would also have butter tarts, Christmas cookies, and when Gramma was still alive we'd occasionally have a Christmas trifle. I'm not a fan of trifle (very un-British of me, I know)

All of which sounds perfectly delightful, BethAnne. At Christmastime we always had shortbread cookies, candy cane cookies, gumdrop cake and more. Christmas is such a delicious season

I think I've tried the possible solutions - short of going shopping. So I made two big batches of soup and had a nap.

I wanted to use white yarn but my needles are silvery and there isn't enough contrast. . I have no idea what weight the yarn is - cheap DK probably. Also have some really heavy stuff but that isn't suitable for what I want to try making. Just have to try and then THINK! New needles!! Maybe the Dollar Store will have some.

"Think" ... some Roman is reputed to say that thinking is dangerous and ever since the heavy handed has driven thought to a profound position ... you can tell from points out-there!

Do you know anyone that's far enough to see what's in? I WOKE this morning to the song; "Read Between the Lines" ... an odd set of lyrics! Few really observe the lyrics ... thus they go MS Understood!
