Jae give yourself a shake ----
Sorry, unsafe, no shakes available. But I did just have a World Cone (similar to a Drumstick). It was delicious.
I think it's great that we share, unsafe, what I consider to be some important beliefs. Correct me if I'm wrong here but we both believe in God, and we both hold him to be all powerful, and Sovereign, and the Creator and Sustainer. We both believe he's omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. And, hey, I think all that's great.
God Sent a flood to Kill all the wicked people on this earth and destroyed the earth as well -once before ----He only saved Noah because He had Faith In God and obeyed Him --and He allowed Noah to save His Family -------God does punish the wicked --------the people rebelled against God and God had every right to do as He did ----
It's important, I feel, when considering this biblical account to consider the context under which God did such an extreme thing. As they used to tell us back in seminary, "Context is everything." Okay, so the Bible tells us in Genesis 6:11-13, "
God saw that everything on the earth had become spoiled. Everywhere, people were attacking each other. God saw how much the earth had become spoiled. Everyone was doing bad things. God said to Noah, 'I will destroy everyone. That is what I have decided to do. Everywhere on the earth, people are attacking each other. Now I will destroy the people and also the earth." So according to this, unsafe,
everyone on the whole planet save for Noah was doing bad things including attacking each other.
Is that honestly the situation you imagine was going on in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia before Hurricane Helene caused damage and killed people there - that people were only doing evil such as attacking each other? Or do you think God just wanted to judge the 121 people who were killed.
Did you know that, according to the 2020 US Religion Census, there are a total of about 69,000 churches in those 6 states combined? That kind of, in my opinion anyway, really challenges the idea that everyone was up to no good. By the way, unsafe, that includes several Protestant and evangelical churches that were affected. For instance, First Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, Florida was impacted. In addition, Southern Baptist churches in Live Oak and Perry, Florida were hit. As were some Catholic perishes, and three buildings belonging to the United Church of Christ.
Do you think that all of the people in those churches were attacking each other and only doing bad all the time so God sent to get them?
it was righteous judgment that He displayed ===
In the case of Noah and his world, sure, I believe that, because it's in the Bible. Now, some may think that makes me a naive Christian. So be it. What's your source for holding that God sent Hurricane Helene to judge parts of America?
Jae -----We are in the last Days now for this earth ----Jesus gives you the signs ----God is going to destroy this whole earth and all the wicked people once again --and it is getting nearer to this time -----
God, I believe, is going to make a new earth, a restored earth, a beautiful earth. That new earth will be the very earth we live on today only it will be redeemed. I believe that will happen soon. I believe that Jesus will soon return to the earth in order to bring that about. I believe that our task as Christians now is to invite other people to share in the joy of that new earth with us.
How many people do you think turned to God and accepted their Salvation after this as you call it Natural disaster
I do not know an exact number, unsafe, and neither do you. It is interesting that here you seem to acknowledge that there may be some. Which sets the current stage of the six American states apart from the all-corrupt one that existed in Noah's day.
---this is God waking people up as to what is coming in the future ----which is ten thousand times worse than Helene ---
That's kind of a pessimistic way of seeing things, unsafe. I prefer to look forward to the future. I long for the day when will God will redeem this old rock we live on and usher in a joyous new world. I hold that the best is yet to come. Yes, I agree, there are currently birth pangs. What that says to me is that a joyous event will soon take place.
God is going to destroy this Earth and all in it once again -----and believe me no one wants to be here when God unleashes His Wrath upon this wicked earth and all in it ---
Here you go with the destruction again. Please tell me this, unsafe, exactly which people currently alive do you view as being worthy of judgment such as in Noah's day. You seem to hold, and please forgive me if I'm wrong, that the 121 people killed by Helene were so worthy. Anyone else?
I'm sure those 121 people made some mistakes in their lives, but who hasn't? If God's going to wipe out any and all of us who have ever made a mistake, none of us can have hope. If God's going to destroy all of us who make mistakes as we go along in our lives each day, we're all doomed. Personally, I associate myself with what Paul said of he and the apostles, "
We have become like dirty things that people throw away." - 1 Corinthians 4:13b (EASY)
These Storms are God's righteous Judgment on this cursed earth and wicked people -----and this is just a sample of the wrath that God is going to unleash on this earth in the future ---
You're no one to judge the people of those states, and the 121 people in particular, as being wicked. Neither am I. The only one who can judge that, I think we can agree on, is God. Yet here you seem to suggest that you are able to.
So if your preaching to a Church ---you should be straight and tell the Church what is the truth from the Scripture instead of Sugar Coating the harsh truth -----
You should come listen to me preach before you judge my preaching, Really, come on over to South Korea any time. You'll receive a wonderfully warm welcome especially from the other members of my congregation. They are all kinder and more loving folks than I.
Pay attention to verse 11 Jae ----it tells you how God wants people to act before the end comes ----this is what God sending these sufferings are trying to accomplish --God is telling people that they need to look at their Behaviour and change their wicked ways
God, I can agree, may have allowed the storm to hit those states because for some reason he wants to especially draw their people over to him. I don't know why he would particularly choose those places in America, but that's okay. I'm not God. I don't have to know.
At the same time, unsafe, has it occurred to you that one reason God may have allowed the storm to hit there is because he wants to bring people there closer together. You may not know this but there are many organizations there, including many faith-based ones, that are now actively working together in relief efforts. New alliances are forming as people work together to help one another. Groups involved include Salvation Army, Samaritan's Purse, United Way, and others.
Those groups are working together because they are focusing not on judgment, on whose fault the storm was, but on things like compassion and mercy. Jesus had quite a lot to say about those things as well. In seeking to uplift others, those groups are, I believe, living out the true heart of Christ's message. Our response to suffering, unsafe, must always be rooted in love, not in fear or condemnation
