I honestly don't think he'll break the record, but even what he's done so far seems like a win to me. The crowd gathered at the marina at 8 a.m. this morning made me think world peace is possible if we just all pull together! Lots of smiles, hugs, encouragement, and a few chuckles.

Oh yes. Canoeing takes more energy than you would think. It looks so darn peaceful when the water is calm.

And, I have just tested positive for COVID. Do not have the time for this right now. First thing tomorrow, call in to my pharmacy to beg for a Paxlovid prescription. I have to have this friggin' bin filled by the end of Wednesday. I have a bunch of help coming that day, but a s**t ton of stuff to do beforehand. CBD vape to the rescue, I hope, plus lots of painkillers. Damnation to poor timing.

Gonna talk to pharmacist about Paxlovid tomorrow.
Good idea re paxlovid. Sorry you're ill. Bette. And I guess a call to let the church know that there's been a potential exposure of people attending today :-( ... tis the season unfortunately.

it was lovely to watch the video Nancy! Seems like quite an enterprising guy you've raised!

Awww @BetteTheRed …sorry to hear. Hope it doesn’t hit you too hard. Son had to abort the pumpkin paddle. Wind, waves and current made it a one km per hour event when he got out on the big lake. He covered 23 km and put many smiles on many faces. I call it a success.
Oh yes, I have watched those pumpkin paddlers in Windsor NS and that’s only 800 m across the lake. A pumpkin is not at all aero (hydro) dynamic. Seeing this, I could not imagine 62 km.

Good morning! As we talk of ferry crossings, pumpkin watercraft (whether or not it actually travelled 62 KM, it still seems like it was worth it), Covid and all the other stuff that goes on, let us gather round the Coffee Cart, for hot beverages of all kinds, chatting and community. May the Covid be mold, may the pumpkin memories last, may the trip involving the ferry be safe and smooth. All is ready, come and join in!

I don't know about that, or anything else for that matter given the number of false opinions we encounter (because of the vast chaos induced by irrationalities). Yet there are these people that are very determined bout the most alien of indeterminates like the human soul ... none has ever observed it ... thus ide must be a shard of aboriginal dark mystery. People without any history swear they know all about this grand thing that gets gross as the lie grows ...

Could this be for the amusement of outliers; Black Swans, albatrosses and other flying things that are never seen to land? Fey, Fa to say least ...

Mores???? I can't say ... yet remain seeking ... Sikh? That'll get a hostile retort ... with headaches one should bind their head with cool options ...

I repeat, avoid the heat ... like I Carries ... arms length ... the soul is a strange bird ... definitely indeterminate! How they get innate ... queer eh, as extant function! Keep it up ... for real people love mystery! Thus the Jewish myth ... and they keep i in a hard place ... emotion is like that ... until battered, beaten and cooked ... swallow it ... Magi may follow!

Like a quis to the breast of the windless ... In Aramaic that's an unknown letter to the European white chimera ... blanched soul?

73% of the eligible population voted- the highest number since the end of communism.
If only we could get back to turnouts like that here. I think we've been running in the 60s last few elections.

Grey and damp here again. Tomorrow might be nice, though.

Interviewing for a new position today. None are perfect, but all have potential so we shall see how this goes. This will give me 6 permanent and 1 co-op position on the team, including a second manager who leads one half of the team. And to think that this all started with just me.

@Mendalla -- I think about all the interviews I had in the past. I don't think I did well on a single one. When I got jobs, honestly, it was because someone who knew me understood that I was a better worker/candidate than the interview made me seem. I think there is an art to interviews, and I, for one, never mastered it!

Checked in this morning to so much news from others. Sorry to hear about sickness. Admiration for pumpkin paddlers. I was a bit behind on reading due to a family situation. Our son decided to have a drink yesterday - close to disastrous for him as he has a severe brain injury. Eventually got him into bed and checked the house for bottles - they are now empty! Hoping this is only a temporary glitch!

I have no idea how I would fare today. I've been in the same job for 24 years so have not had an interview since the years still began with a "19". I have done many interviews as a hiring manager, but not sure if that would help or hinder if I was on the applicant side of the table.

As for doing well from the hiring manager side, my company has a top notch recruiter and some excellent HR folks who sit in if he's not available so I have enough support that even if I am not in peak form, the interview still tends to go where we need it to.

The great powers will discouage the lessors from doing such things ... threaten them with everything thay can ... especailly collateral!
