Watching and Unwatching threads

Does this function actually work for anyone? I can't figure it out.

There are a couple of threads I would prefer to ignore. I don't like the song thread since everyone starting posting links to the actual songs. Too long to load on my phone.

I liked it when it was just a word game.

Oh for sure. Would just prefer to make threads I don't open disappear from my What's New.

Some folk find some words are unbelievable because of friability and warping of hard time ... ripples in odd spaces and alter domains?

There is no native capability to ignore threads in Xenforo.

"Watch" just lets you set things so that you will receive alerts (with or without email) when someone posts in a thread or forum that you have "Watch" turned on for. No impact on things like "What's New" though there is a "Watched Threads" tab in What's New where you can check on just threads you are watching.

Adding the capability to ignore threads is done by an add-on but I am not sure if there is a free one. And those generally completely ignore the thread, much like ignoring a user, not just remove it from What's New. You don't even see that it is in the forum and you have to go to the Ignoring section of your preferences to remove a thread from Ignore.

Update.

I have figured out if I click Unwatch threads in my New Posts they move over to What's New and are no longer in bold font.

Actually it might be the other way around. But I have the solution I was looking for.

Sometimes nothing clicks ... thus phobias due to uncertainty about what's known and what isn't creating a base for Schrodinger's Theory! Folk avoid that too like billiards!

Oh of course. I am just pleased to have discovered a little trick that works for me.
