Sensationalism, I think. If he is convicted, the GOP would have to truly be brainless zombies to run him even if he can legally run. However, most places keep convicted felons from running for office unless pardoned.
I'll have to look into that more I guess.
 
I watched a few commentators recently who said if he is indicted the party and financers will dump him like a hot potato. Here's hoping.

Don't let them fool you. In 2012, when they came up with Mitt and Pat Ryan (sometimes they were referred to as "Mitt the Twit and Lyin' Ryan), I didn't think they could possibly get any worse. By golly, in 2016 the Republicans managed to top themselves. Who knows what brain trust they'll find in '24....

Mitt was, in the end, not that bad. He is one of the few sane GOP'ers right now (relatively speaking). But, yeah, a ticket of Ron de Santis and Nikki Haley seems like a non-zero possibility, eh.

Even hear of the great search for power? It is paradoxical ... maybe enigmatic to eliminate the paradox!
 
I understand that the grand jury that is looking at this meets Monday and Wednesday. They would have to vote to indict. That means an indictment would be on one of those days apparently.
