The son of a dear friend of mine is currently on the last legs of a very challenging canoe trip indeed. The Yukon River Quest, from Whitehorse to Dawson City. He and his partner (a tandem male canoe team) are in 5th place at present, and likely, from what I can see on the tracker, to remain there (and I just previewed the post, to make sure everything okay and they're in 4th now!). Good job, Arthur!

Good morning! Saturday has happened. As we discuss the difference between camping and 'trailering,' and follow the progress of canoe races, and the other various things that make up life, let us pause for a bit around the coffee cart, and share in the company.

21st overall, 6th in tandem canoe, and 4th in men's tandem canoe. Great job, Arthur!!!! (His day job is professor of theology, particularly the Psalms as viewed through an ecological lens...)

And it's a gorgeous day here, but supposed to be hot, so better get out and cut the weeds out front.
 
20km on my bike then a livestream of an incredible performance by the Dutch metal band Epica. And that's just the morning. Planning to take in another livestream from the same festival this aft.
 
We're in Prince Albert with our friend who is looking for a tool box. I've been in and out of the truck and am staying in the truck this time while Mr Northwind and our friend go in and buy the chosen item. I'm pooped
 
Welp, my mind is truly blown. Nightwish, the Finnish metal band that have been an obsession with me for a couple years, hit the stage at Hellfest in France today and nailed it. One of the best live shows I have seen from them and they have a history of great live shows. Best of all, I was "there" to see it live by the magic of livestreaming whilst chatting with other fans on the lead singer's fan site. Wonderful way to kill a rather warm afternoon.
 
I woke up several times last night coughing. Got better after being up for an hour and then had only a stuffed nose, rapid test negative, but I went for a PCR anyway, just to make sure. That messed up my Saturday plans of hanging out with my friend, oh well, nothing new in Covid times.
 
Good morning! The time has come to speak of many things, as someone in a book of some sort once said. Weather, grocery store walks, bike rides and livestreams, happy dogs, and lots of other things. The coffee cart is ready to facilitate your discussions. C'mon in.
