HEAVY downpour! No visibility the rain is so hard and fast
Ugh. I got caught driving home from work in one almost like that not long ago. If it had been snow, I would have had to pull over. As it was, I was driving like 40 in an 80 zone. My wipers could barely keep up.

LAST time I was caught driving in a storm like that was 5 or more years ago - took me 45 mins to make the 15 mins drive home from Bashaw - besides the rain, I accidentally got trapped between two large houses being moved so we couldn't drive faster than 30 k and were closer to a standstill more than we were moving due to the low visibility...mom didn't believe me as not a single drop of rain was falling in Mirror

We went into the city for supper last night. We had the GPS even though we knew where we were going. That was good because the heavens let loose as we were navigating a slightly confusing network of roads.

The dark clouds we had have floated away.

I've never done it, but I always worry about having left the windows down and it raining

Wow. I've got to say that I do it every third or fourth rain, at least one window. I don't use the A/C much, preferring to just open up all the windows. (This may explain why I still have working A/C in a 13 year old vehicle, but it may also explain why said vehicle already prone to rust is as rusty as it is...)

Back in the day, there was

I've managed it before, but not often. Current vehicle is in the garage when at home so it is only a risk if a storm blows up while I'm at work or shopping and miss closing a window.

We never did get the storms they were forecasting for last night. Deck was dry when I got up, meaning no overnight rain.

Wow! I don't use A/C - put windows down too but make sure I put them all up before I leave the vehicle for the final park...that said, my interior got damp when I got stopped in the rain for the speeding ticket LAST month :P but the car was dusty and needed a wash.

as of 5:30 AM we'd had 1/2 inch of rain and it hasn't slowed at all since so won't be long before we get another half inch...I finally figured out how to get the extender on the downspout!!! I've been trying to figure out since 2015 when we got the hail damage repair done and changed our downspouts so I couldn't use the extender Dad used...this morning after I biked (only 1.5K as storming) I realized I just needed to turn the elbow around and I could put the extender on (duh!)

I've always wanted to have an image of someone saying that line with a huge Great White Shark looming behind them, mouth open.

EDIT: Actually, maybe I have and that's where the idea came from.

I can't remember if I've ever seen an image like that

LAST after almost getting blown off my bike this morning. Barely made it around 1 loop.

Yesterday the old rain gauge showed 1/4s of an inch of rain and the new one showed 1.5 inches of rain...this morning the old one shows 3/4s of rain overnight but the new one shows 1.25 inches...I think it's time to toss the old one

One of my sons works 'up north' a- week in and a week out. Another fairly local man ride shares with him from our place on. He parks his truck on an empty lot nearby.

We contacted him because his truck window was open, but he said "Oh. Don't worry about it. It is broken and won't close".. No doubt some of the 21/2" of rain got in!
