Conspiracies, What Are They ?

Apparently Rita thinks it is okay that someone can express a conspiracy theory by going to Rideau Hall.

This is where conspiracy theories stop being innocent madness and move into the realm of a serious risk to safety. People who take this stuff seriously are not necessarily unwilling to take dramatic action on it. As I said, I hope that's not what happened here, but it does point up the risks.

Give me a break .... how do you go from ignoring this ...

It has been just over a year now since I rejoined the military, this time as a Canadian Ranger. About twenty years ago I had been in the Royal Canadian Artillery when I was living in Saskatchewan.

When the Rangers began recruiting in our area of central Manitoba to form a new Patrol in the Swan River Valley, I put in my application right away. I had heard of the Rangers but never thought I would have a chance to be one or even be in the military again. The Rangers are usually in the more northern and remote areas of Canada but I guess that is really saying something about Swan River.

I began to work with our local Patrol Commander and the Company HQ in Winnipeg to assist with the administration and application process in the forming of our new Patrol. I was often down in Winnipeg on business with GrindHouse and the Ring Of Fire Jalapeno Garlic Sausage.
I was sworn in last May and we had our first exercise in June which took place in the Duck Mountains, which is on the south side of the Valley. This photo was taken during that exercise.
When we began to form the Patrol and fill the leadership positions, I was voted in as the Patrol 2IC or 2nd In Command. I have really enjoyed working with the Rangers. In the last year I have been all over Manitoba and have worked with Rangers from every Patrol in the province. Every exercise has been interesting and unique. I have been on boats, canoes, quads, snowmobiles, airplanes, and helicopters. I have also done training with the Canadian Coast Guard at Gimli on Lake Winnipeg and Search and Rescue training with the OFC or Office of the Fire Commissioner. I have also been an instructor for some of the Wilderness Survival training courses that the Rangers have provided to members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I was even up with the Gillam Patrol during the manhunt last summer.
As some of you may already know, things have been on hold with my GrindHouse meat products due to the logistics of the COVID-19 situation. As a Canadian Ranger, I am also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves. I am one of the military volunteers who are on call across Canada with Operation LASER which is our military's response to help deal with the Corona virus pandemic.
I am not sure what will be left of our economy, industries, and businesses when this all ends. I would like to continue on with my meat products when my volunteer contract with the military is done, whenever that is.
I am really looking forward to this pandemic ending so I can go back to having more adventures with my fellow Rangers.

To focusing on this ...
The post also directs people to look up "Event 201," a worldwide pandemic preparedness exercise run last year ....

I have directed people to look up 'Event 201' which in fact was a worldwide pandemic preparedness exercise run last year was it not?

And because I have done that ... everyone here has relegated me to being among the
'conspiracy theorists' using it to 'suggest Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is behind COVID-19' ...

That Bill Gates is behind COVID-19 ... in more ways than one ... is not a theory ... it is well documented fact.

How does my recognition of the facts make me conspiracy theorist any more than you are a conspiracy theorist to assume that the reason this man is running around armed and dangerous is because he 'buys' into conspiracy theories about Bill Gates?

The man likes guns and is looking forward to the pandemic ending so he can continue making sausages and playing with his fellow rangers again.

How you can spin that into dangerous conspiracy theorist is magical!

Apparently you think it is okay to call any act of frustration over 'lockdown' expression of a conspiracy theory.

Not at all. I responded because you laughed at Mendalla's comment rather than respond with words. I see now you have done that.

You want people to take you seriously yet you rarely respond to direct questions or comments asking for clarification. It's hard to see sense when you fail to provide it.

Again ... you refusing to read what I actually post is not my failure.

Are you calling me screwed up?
Everyone's screwed up in some ways. JP isn't helping, only adding to it. Maybe if he came out and admitted yes he's very political and ideological and his self help is not just self help, but political commentary, at least he'd be more honest about what he's doing. Once I saw the video of him in the same room with Don Jr. and Charlie Kirk for a right wing youth event, if there was any possibility in my mind that he was trustworthy - it was gone. Well, it was also the meat. He doesn't look well and the meat diet was ridiculous. Can't take his advice seriously. There are a thousand self help books almost like his without the political hyperbole attached, and without the adjunct suggestion, later on to his devoted fans who've read the book, that people give up all foods but red meat. Followed by biblical lectures. Once he's giving biblical lectures to his huddled carnivorous masses - that's a huge red flag. There are so many red flags with him.

With a gun. That he's trained to use by our own military. You left out that part.
No you left that part out ... in favor of focusing on the 'danger of conspiracy theory'.

Police have arrested a Canadian Armed Forces member who they say was armed and had gained access to the grounds at Rideau Hall early Thursday morning.

The man "breached the main pedestrian entrance" at 1 Sussex Drive at around 6:30 a.m. ET with his vehicle, the RCMP said in a statement.

When the impact disabled his vehicle, the man headed to the Rideau Hall greenhouse, where he was "rapidly contained" by RCMP members on patrol, the force said. He was apprehended shortly before 8:30 a.m. without incident and taken into custody for questioning.

CBC News has confirmed the man in custody is Corey Hurren, an active member of the military who serves as a Canadian Ranger.

So what are the charges against this man .... expressing a conspiracy theory by going to Rideau Hall?

Again ... you refusing to read what I actually post is not my failure.

Lord knows I try. I'm referring specifically to your response to my comment saying something like dismissing some info is not an indication of dismissing everything. You responded with a comment about colonialism which appeared to not having anything to do with my comment.

But live in your fantasy that we're misunderstanding poor Rita.

Individual responsibility ... clean up your own room ... huge flags ... so so dangerous.
You are ignoring that he laced the book with political hyperbole.

So, he got a bunch of followers who were down and out and it seems like he can do no wrong now - they will follow him to the end of the earth - though he's been tangled with Trump's agenda. That wasn't enough to dissuade reasonable people - so I have to conclude that they're not reasonable. And he's giving lectures to thousands on the bible, with self claimed expertise (he has self claimed expertise on many things and he's making a lot of money off of it) - though the live tours have been cancelled now (he's promoting his agenda still though). And people are joining his red meat revolution. Those are red fags of a cult.

You flirt with cult gurus a lot. It's like you never met a right wing cult guru you didn't like - for reasons I cannot understand.

JP hits a lot of these markers. More than half of them:

And these are just summaries. If you read the whole essay, which can also be found online, some of the common tactics are described in greater detail. Creating an us and them religious fervour around a political agenda using the bible is one of them.

Well I think he bent the gate with his car to get in. That was at the very least an indicator that something is wrong. And I'm pretty sure that's vandalism. And why did he need to carry a weapon, a firearm with him - right near the PMs house? Why? I don't think that's legal here, for random people to carry firearms on public grounds - for good reason. I think there are grounds to arrest and charge him. In this case it's safer for everybody, including him. They didn't harm him, and probably prevented him from harming others.

Also, what was he doing, from rural Manitoba, in Ottawa, near the PMs house? Driving his car through a gate, with a gun? That's strange behaviour that is obviously questionable.

This is what he is, in fact, being charged with. Almost all involving firearms charges.

Also, the grounds were closed. He busted the gate with his car. He's apparently not being charged for that.
