there was an article in the weekend, that I cant find now, that spoke to the changes in oil use we have seen since the lock downs began. And it highlighted the issue that environmentalist need to stop fighting the idea of getting oil out of the ground and instead focus on decreasing demand. When demand is decreased, like no international travel, we see what happens
limited travel, or travel too expensive for most of us
working from home
roads giving over a lane to bikes and walkers, permanently
limited boating (did you read how quiet the waters around B.C. are because if restrictions? Marine life is happy, whale watching tours not so much)
those things alone would make a big difference. And as demand goes down, we will still need oil but we Will see changes
