Age Difference in Couples

It's one of those words that was derogatory, or at least complimentary in a way that many/most women didn't find complimentary (treating them as sexual objects), in origin, but that some of those targeted have chosen to embrace. Similar to MILF (Mother I'd Like to ... I'll leave the "F" to your imagination).
The last one is more derogatory and misogynistic. It’s a porn word. At least cougar is not a disempowering word. Cougars are powerful animals. MILF is a made up acronym, by pornie men, deliberately objectifying and disempowering. I’m betting almost no women like to be called MILFs unless they are being objectified to sell a man his fantasy - or in possible intimate situations where two actual parents are having sex and it’s said for fun...otherwise MILF is a creepy word. Father I’d like to f sounds even more creepy. And it’s corresponding acronym is FILF. Makes sense. Yuck.

Those acronyms are icky. Then there's a word like "wolf" to describe men...wolf whistles.

Thinking it may be Vancouver. Kimmio's stompin' grounds.

Parachute Club was formed and based in Toronto and shot the video there AFAIK. The song actually debuted at Toronto Pride in 1983, which is the vibe they went for in the video. They reunited for an anniversary performance at Toronto Pride 2008, apparently.

Regardless of where they shot it, it is a wonderful song and video.

...or 1:50...remember seeing that round building in Van.
BRING BACK THE
MULLET!

Well back then I may have been a bit confused about which city I was in....(blushing)

I love that I can gleefully derail my own threads!
I dated someone briefly when I was almost 50 who was 12 years younger. We had some really good times, but it seemed developmentally, we were in different places. Maybe just the timing. If we were both younger, it might have been different.

Did they sing at Jack Layton’s funeral?

According to the Wiki article on the song, it was Lorraine Segato, the group's lead singer, backed by a choir for that performance. Apparently, Layton had asked to use it as a campaign song when he ran for the NDP leadership (he was friends with one of the group) and instead, Segato and her writing partners wrote a whole new song for him.

You seem young to me, regardless of how old you are. You have a youthful (but not immature) presence. That’s a compliment.

Just remembered an extreme age difference marriage I know of. A young man was hired to help an older widow to run a farm. After a couple of years they decided it would be easier if the just got married. Her boys were older than her bridegroom. They lived happily for many years until she got a terminal disease.

Anyone ever read McCullough's novel "Tim"? It was a little known one (compared to Thorn Birds, etc.), about a younger differently abled man and an older almost-retired really bright woman (a 30 year age difference in the opposite direction than we're used to). It was actually a really endearing story, really carefully handled.
