Being a Christian is about living in the freedom of the Gospel, being saved by Grace and bearing fruits of this saving faith. I don't think it's about rules and certain ways of living.

I don't think that Christian freedom, and I thank God for it, gives us a license to do shameful things. I believe that how we choose to live our lives is very important. Not that salvation depends on it, but as an outflow of our missional faith.

Once there is no penis-focus... er, can we just do away with people's genitalia like that? God gave people their genitalia. Don't you think God had a good reason for that.
“He” also made them right and left handed. Since there are less left handed people, is there a reason to exclude them?

To exclude them from what Mrs. A.? I was making a general comment - that God has good purpose for the things God does.

Once there is no penis-focus, then the questions get easy. Should loving adults be able to commit to legal relationship? Should they be able to form legal families adding progeny in legal ways? (natural, adoption, surrogacy, etc.)

It is all about 'IHC envy ... all powers would like to be a Richard ... but they don't know how!

I believe it is a sacred scheme (conspiracy) as once it was said ... this shouldn't be common knowledge and thus the alternate crazies rule! It is the basis of opposition and competition ... cooperation isn't good for the war mongering business!

However you can't say that because of limits on plagiarism ... it too is a dark matter! In the means you can't say it ...

Thus posts have a' post holic holes ... where fencing can be anchored to close the breach. Be prepared ... if over powdered it could blow ... its canon ... of Bull or BS or some other expression of word ... that flies!

Maybe a biologic/reproductive one, but if we stick to biological and evolutionary facts we shouldn't do 90% of what we do nowadays, and our lifestyle should be very different. Being a Christian is about living in the freedom of the Gospel, being saved by Grace and bearing fruits of this saving faith. I don't think it's about rules and certain ways of living. Accepting and affirming LGBTQ+ people is part of the mandate of loving thy neighbor.

Grace is like AD onus (gift) our given responsibility to ponder and process ... that thunk item ... as it went down ... due to desires for battle! Derived from the variants of "đ" that split off into "d" "ch" and "th" ... if you know your linguistics and semantic science about evolution of the Mark into a conception ... however as carrying on with overuse of sensationalism ... much knowledge and wisdom was blown as blue folks ... and they evaporated into the misty zone ... metaphorically!

Nothing left but Freudian vapours ... cloudy memes to say the best!

Gods are troublesome when incarnated ... they should remain silent in the mind with private conversation about seductive pools ... and willows catching the winds off the waters ... maybe even killing the god mockers ... as love converts to intelligence with mellowing ... there's a time for it and talking about different sects with deviations ... as aspirations in the PEW! Being the time is now and it was only imagined ...

Few believe in the imagination thus causing a problem when reality and imagination are messed up in neurosis ... others go right over the edge into psychosis when overpowered by it ... they become un-accustomed to wisening!

Amire still small voice? Admit it God is that still small voice down that dark maw of a hole becking and some swallowed it tooth and whale ...

UMC liberals have at times gone against the denomination. Pastors have officiated at same-sex marriages. Gay pastors serve in churches, and one UMC conference even has a gay bishop.

Church practice can't be severed from church doctrine. The separation between doctrine and practice will doom any denomination.

The UMC faced a crucial decision. It would have to decide one way or the other; a decision that would lead to stress in the church and lead toward a denominational split.

Did Jesus outrun doctrine for a while until doctoring disposed of that brighter man ... causing a'post hole IHC sublimation?

There are indications of circumstances that common knowledge is driven out of here and now due to overwhelming brutis forte! Thus that out of it feeling that comes when mystery befalls one at the fall of eve'n ... the myth may extend if your burnt out ... some swallow too much and are over rounded ... the bible says to be burnt on the outside ... like the blubbering whales and hogs of great luck that bring us fuel for the Lambic system ... glucosides!

Truth ???? You can't tell real people altruism ... to much conditioning with the alternate lyres ... ΨΨ ... 2 psi's to the wind ...

Which, if the church runs true to form, like the slavery issue, will be corrected in 80 years' time, when this generations great-grandchildren belatedly realize that those before them chose to stand on the wrong side of history, the wrong side of faith, hope and love, and the wrong side of prejudice.

Or the loving side of knowledge and wisdom that countered explosive passions ... thus chad flies ... terrible bits ...

Amen brother. Hopefully the great-grandchildren of the liberals will be wiser.

Yet some believe they should confine scattered thoughts and no be Charon ...

Comes with limited linguistics ...

Slavery is wrong because it is a deviation from God's original plan for human life. It's in the same league as things like murder, assault and theft.
Slavery was OK in the Bible. I seem to remember Pauline references for slaves to submit and obey. (Eph. 6:5, Col. 3:22) Why would God change God's mind on the matter?

Indeed, the idea that slavery is NOT okay is a fairly modern one in the West and still hasn't completely sunk in in some other parts of the world. In the time of Jesus and Paul, it was just another social institution with rules and expectations on both slaves and masters.

This thread isn't really about slavery Redbaron. Please start a new thread to discuss it on.
