Hi,
That's biologically true. You don't think Joseph played a fatherly role in Jesus' life?
The narratives put Joseph in the background and Mary in the foreground. To me this signifies the overcoming of human patriarchy and the restoration of the balance and harmony in the male/female image of God in human being. Where this balance is tipped by hierarchal sensibilities iniquity follows.

What was Mary’s influence while Jesus was formed in her womb? What was her influence during the infancy and youth of Jesus? My insight recognizes the formative relationship of mother and child. This insight is rooted in the profession of Jesus that he is not present as one who is served at table (men) but as one who serves at table (woman).

Sad to say patriarchal privilege is still dominant in the diverse institutions of religion and politics.

Jesus played the role that every man should play - that of servant-leader.

While I've enjoyed participating in this thread, I'm not entirely sure what the initial point of it was.

yep. and just before, 2 gospel witnesses murdered in the streets during the great tribulation, wars on this planet like we have never seen before
There is something very wrong about cheering on “the apocalypse” and even trying to hasten it. It’s like some Christians revel in seeing war and violent conflict across the world, especially in places with different customs that they don’t know and with people they don’t feel anything personally for because it signals to them Christ’s immanent return. That somehow, if they support it, they are being faithful. But that’s the problem with literalism. People can’t use their creative imaginations deeply enough, or recognize there’s nothing Christlike, or stewardlike, about that! The crocodile tears for the victims of war and violence, when they actually wish for it and vote for it, are hard to stomach.

I don't know anyone who revels "in seeing war and violent conflict across the world" Kimmio. I do know people who are watchful for the signs of the times and who eagerly await the return of Christ.

"And learn ye the parable of the fig tree. When his branch is now tender, and the leaves be sprung, ye know that summer is nigh; so and ye when ye shall see all these things, know ye that it is nigh, in the gates." - Matthew 24:32-33 (WYC).

But they get all excited by what they think are signs. There have been wars and rumours of wars since there have been humans. The way we will know Christ has returned is if the wars stop. For real...a real commitment to lasting peace. And we need to play a part in making them stop...because as long as there are wars and rumours of wars... enduring peace is continually impeded.

@blackbelt1961 just when exactly, do you think we should begin beating the swords into ploughshares? Why do we have to wait to do that? (I don’t think that’s what was meant)

Yet so many pseudo Christians that are supposed to be great servant leaders are too self concerned. Burnt out hulks!

In essence did we miss the understanding of apocalypse ... that at one time and place meant a sudden rendering of cognizance? I don't know but like Planck this may have a walled meaning as in his quote:
Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.
Sometimes yah gotta wonder about what lies in the sub-con science of stunned leaders that ignore the quanta aspects ... little things like Nous and Bos'ns of the Higgins nature ... hard to determine ... tis the little men of life ... gnomonist! Nominally unnamed ... haunting essences ... but if two wee Pixs join ... these may be attended to ... mysteriously ...

Will someone play misty again ?

But they get all excited by what they think are signs.

no they do not get excited, that is you coming up with all sorts of accusations, they are looking to the signs and times as JESUS said they should do because they know this world is full of evil and It will only be stopped when the King of King and Lord of Lords shows up.

what there doing is Praying for Christ intervention

Then why do they support the warmongers - the arms manufacturers and billionaire oil barons and fraudsters - the money changers - so much...the ones making those “signs and wonders” happen , if they really want intervention?

Because it is good for the business market even if it brings on shock and awe in the form of PTSD ... and thus it is all forgotten and down the sewer ... Jesus while in the wardrobe ...

im not sure who your talking about, But God also uses rough and tough Guys too, God prefer the heart rather than the mouth , go read King david
Rough and tough guys like wars. And when people vote for the rough and tough guys they support their wars...then to turn around and call those signs of the end times and God’s plan, and pray for intervention...that doesn’t make sense. Nobody needs the thoughts and prayers by that point. They need people willing to change course and risk peace.

there were rough and tough Guys in the bible too that God used,

Yeah. There were peaceful men and women, too. But...forget the women. They couldn’t be used by God to bring anything, could they? Let’s cheer on the strongmen! Booyah! (Sarcasm)

not sure why you post as such, the Greatest Gift this world has ever seen came by a WOMAN, who God uses , so much in Fact that God elevated her overall!

yes Kimmio, she was a woman
