We had a body like this in East London for a time. Not sure where it's at right now. UU, United, Anglican and a couple others IIRC. Ran a satellite location for the London Food Bank in one of the churches among other projects. Good luck and I hope it works out.

thank you mendaLa. it might prove interesting - chAllenging - and valuable if we could add non-chriSTians into the mix. the coming-together to support the london food bank sounds wonderful.

Are any of the Toronto UU churches near you? There's about 4 in Toronto proper and a few more in the 905 belt. Hit cuc.ca if you want to see.

Does Redbaron live in Montreal? If so, which church? When I was 17 or so, I often conducted the service at a UC mission church on de Bullion St., then the bargain basement of red light districts. And I would tell them all about life. For cultural life, there was live theatre, The Victory I think it was called, which featured a gorgeous young stripper, an older one with a weight problem, and two of the filthiest comics you ever heard - plus an old, western movie, all for a dollar. The district was also a centre for illegal gambling and loan-sharking. It also held Montreal's only French-Protestant church dating back to the early nineteenth century. The earliest converts of my family attended Eglise St.-Jean at least as early as the 1840s.
