As I recall, I mentioned going to seminary because Jae said HE had been to seminary.

here is your response to me :
(I'm a seminary graduate. I have studied Scripture. I continue to study Scripture. I do not make up my own theology)

if that is not an appeal to give vitality to your interpretation, God I don't know what is

Why aren't you climbing all over him for HIS claim of superiority, hmmmm? Why didn't you yell at HIM for HIS prideful reference to his high falutin' edumakashun? Where's the sense of outrage for HIM?,
As far as unsafe, I have no idea what she says, because I have her on the 'ignore' list, for reasons that are sufficient for me.

your suggesting I yell at JAE ????? are you for real?

take it easy red, you're taking a tantrum, what makes you think I'm yelling at you? just because I disagree with you ??????

You yell at me, you can yell at him, too.
You still haven't mentioned why you find education so intimidating, by the way.

Well, if you can't tell a question from an accusation, or answer any of the straightforward questions, not much point in my continuing this. Should you ever decide to own up and commit yourself to some real answers, rather than backpeddle, divert, avoid and deny the questions, I'll be waiting.

again you're making accusations, telling me i yell at you so I should yell at JAE too, childish, re read the thread, all answered, you may not like them, you may disagree with them , but answered,

just like waterfall duck and weave

Redbaron I can't recall saying I'd been to seminary as any claim to superiority or prideful reference. While I'm thankful for my Master's degree, and believe that it's a real blessing to me, I do not believe that it makes me a better person than are others.

Oh, BB, you're an infant in your faith. You have been a Christian for only 17 years? At the age of 57? I am 59, and have been a Christian since I was 4. So, if we're talking "criteria" for indwelling the Holy Spirit, even if education doesn't matter to you, surely the number of years that one has followed the faith has some bearing on the issue.

It seems to me that a few "hot button" issues have come up on this thread:

1. The question of whether or not the historical Jesus even existed.

2. Being Born Again

3. Messianic Judaism

4. The virgin birth

5. The question of which posters might have the Holy Spirit indwelling & providing guidance.

Am I missing any? If any of these issues arise on the Mark thread, I will be on alert. Especially if they arise from other than the context of Mark's gospel.

#4 and #5 seem to have caused the most controversy.

actually, #5 has been a controversy for yrs on here

Well, no actually, because I wasn't baptized into a faith. I went looking for one, a little 4 year old with atheist parents. I literally, found the church, on my own little post-toddler legs (and dragged my sisters along with me, too). So, that's a different sort of entering the church. I didn't actually get baptized until the day I was confirmed at 12, because my parents didn't believe in such pagan rituals.

You are lucky you still have your Mom. Mine died 9 years ago, at 80. I still miss her, and the information that she knew that I will now never know. One day, a few decades ago, she and I sorted out a couple of hundred old photos into envelopes detailing different events/parts of the family. One day after she died, the box fell down, all the photos fell out of the envelopes. I will never know which photos belong in which envelope again...

Why are you not pleased that your thread prompts discussions?

im sorry to hear that, but her memories are in your soul forever. My mom will turn 80 this February, I stop by her house a few times a week on my way to the office to check up on her , take her shopping, or the doctors, I enjoy my time with her.

Redbaron ----your quote ---How can you be so sure that the spirit that whispers in your ear is the HOLY Spirit?

unsafe says ------First off the Holy Spirit doesn't whisper in your ear -----The Holy Spirit speaks from His Spirit which dwells in the True Christian ------

The Holy Spirit speaks to the True Christian by revealing God's Truth which is His Word ----The Holy Spirit will never speak against God's word ----and the Holy Spirit will never direct anyone to go against what the Scripture says ----God says His word is truth and the Holy Spirit is God ---- The Holy Speaks what He is told to speak just like Jesus did not speak on His own ----He spoke what His Father told Him to speak -----Everything Jesus Spoke was audible and it came from God ------

unsafe says ---So all you people who say you don't believe this or that in the Bible ---and you present your man made information to discredit the word -----that is not from the Holy Spirit ------that is from Satan who's job it is to keep you all in the dark about scripture and God ----

unsafe posting from John 16 GNT -----the Holy Spirit speaks ---verse 13 ------13 When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears and will tell you of things to come.

The Work of the Holy Spirit
“I did not tell you these things at the beginning, for I was with you. 5 But now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me where I am going. 6 And now that I have told you, your hearts are full of sadness. 7 But I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I go away, because if I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. But if I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin and about what is right and about God's judgment. 9 They are wrong about sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 they are wrong about what is right, because I am going to the Father and you will not see me any more; 11 and they are wrong about judgment, because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

12 “I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much for you to bear. 13 A)'>When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears and will tell you of things to come. 14 He will give me glory, because he will take what I say and tell it to you. 15 All that my Father has is mine; that is why I said that the Spirit will take what I give him and tell it to you.

unsafe says ----
I personally have an inner voice that speaks and guides me -----it does not come from my thoughts --it comes from my spirit man inside me ----it is a still quiet voice that is audible ----so for me it is an audible inner voice -----

unsafe says
The Holy Spirit speaks to a believer by and through witnessing with our spirit ------

unsafe posting
from Romans 16 ----verse 16 ----16 God's Spirit joins himself to our spirits to declare that we are God's children.

Romans 8 (GNT)
Life in the Spirit

12 So then, my friends, we have an obligation, but it is not to live as our human nature wants us to. 13 For if you live according to your human nature, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death your sinful actions, you will live. 14 Those who are led by God's Spirit are God's children. 15 B)'>For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God, “Father! my Father!” 16 God's Spirit joins himself to our spirits to declare that we are God's children.

unsafe says
-----The Holy Spirit speaks to us in visions and dreams -----and that is scriptural -------The Holy Spirit gives true Christians the gift of discernment so we know we are listing to the right voice -----

Jesus says this ------unsafe posting from John 10

John 10:27-28 (KJV)

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Never claimed to be a master. You keep bringing that up.... almost like you're scared of it, or maybe jealous of it. Why do you find the presence of knowledge so intimidating?

Knowledge is a strange flighty thing to the staunched by the blood ... BUNG 'NG?

I know powerful men that faint at the sight ... thus heir mercenaries ...
