The negative news from yesterday was a bit rough, but, we will figure it out.

Bell was my backup plan for internet, should the primary internet fail. The guy phoned to say "can't get it to you. seemed odd, but, he said due to the distance it just won't work." dang. but, ok, primary would have to suffice with cell phone hot spot as backup.

We had a company who does internet service everywhere in this area come out.
Turns out, they cannot provide internet to us. They do point to point, and we aren't on the top of our hill, and there is a row of trees on the hill across the road.
ouch. I was ready to pay $300/month for their commercial access.

So neither internet provider could provide service.

They had done a tower test for our neighbour, so, going to ask them what it was, and maybe see about a towe going in for both of us, but, can't happen until the spring when trees are in full leaf.

So, now on to plan 3, satellite internet.
Fingers crossed.

A friend at work built a new house on the edge of her neighbourhood a few years back. Even the though the neighbourhood had Rogers, it didn't extend out to her place. She was too far from the CO for DSL. Of course, Fibe wasn't there. Ended up using a cell-based solution until they finally put something in. Which was fine with her, but her gamer son wasn't impressed.;) It's amazing how hard it can be to get Internet once you're outside a major centre, even it you're only a short distance outside. Good luck on the satellite. Hope they've improved the latency from when we looked at it for remote offices a decade+ ago.

That is the issue with DSL for us as well.

There is a subdivision approx 1/2 km (?) ach way, large estate homes, and I understand that they have service; however, our area is all GRCA restricted land, and my guess is it was too much money to come into this area. Sigh. I had checked it out as much as I could. We will figure it out.

Oh boo to internet glitch. Yes ... you'll find a way.

Re the dining room set - any chance you might consider getting it stripped & bleached to a lighter colour?

One thing that I am loving are the clotheslines here. Two long clotheslines from the backdoor stoop to a tree, which is high enough you can drive/walk under the clothes. There is almost always a breeze in the area, and having two lines means that i can do a few loads. Just about to do a load of sheets and bedding. yes!

Just now getting art on the walls. Hard to know where to hang things. have to kind of live in the place, but a few pieces seemed to call out to be hung.

I have a printmaking friend, who has curated quite a few shows in her life, when I need "where to put what where" advice. Remember to hang art low. Eye level.

I'm starting to think of downsizing and I still have unframed art. My life is more about curating than permanent hanging...

Much of the house is setup, so, going to go for the housewarming next Sunday. Short notice, but, good. We will have gatherings of folks at other times, but, good to have a party. Plus it will be a bit of a dry run for our christmas gathering.

Midpoint, yes. I'm not religious about it, let me tell you. But I use it as a starting point, and it does tend to make the art, not the furniture, more of a focus.
