Is Ontario headed for another Wynne win?

Also I'm curious, the NDP are the only party suggesting to buy back Hydro One and work towards a full public ownership....is this even possible without creating a huge debt?
Wasn't the selling of Hydro One a huge mistake in the public eyes? Yet Ford will continue with the status quo?

PC's 41%...closest is NDP 30%. Given how little time there is, I don't think Kumbaya is going to help. Ford's in the pocket. I was pondering lately though that this may be an opportunity to put the Greens on the map. What say you?

I am not sure I could come up with a positive under theMcGuinty/ Wynne years. While the Ontario economy as a whole is thriving, a detailed break down in the paper today shows that it is really just Toronto and Ottawa. Ottawa because of the increase in civil servants jobs, that is nothing to cheer about

Other than those cities, the rest of the province is really struggling. No manufacturing jobs, even relatively close to Toronto places like Hamilton and London are in trouble

Education results are poor. Health care is still struggling to figure out how to deliver care in a timely efficient manner
Travel the province and roads are in bad shape. The Toronto Hamilton, Barrie triangle really needs improved transit, not seeing much, traffic i Toronto itself needs heavy investment into subway systems, that while occasionallly pop onto the radar don’t get very far, but traffic and pollution from cars is an issue , taxes have gone up and up. Gas is expensive, hydro is crazy and now we have just pushed the huge bill onto our children, windmills everywhere are producing electricity we cant store for 90 cents a kilowatt hour and because we can’t store it we sell it to. The USA for 3 cents. Would be better to turn them off. It there are this bloody contracts

Minimum wage was raised to the cost of many jobs

Drugs for those under 25 is a plus, yet no means test. So that was actually a boon to the insurance companies who now don’t have to cover the children of their employees

So, if you have a reason I might consider voting for her happy to hear it

There was a minimum wage increase and last assessment was thousands of lost jobs, as a result. But I think it will take a year or two to see if that settles into jobs coming back

There is a guaranteed income study going on, I have not yet read a positive opinion on it though

I personally like her. She seems like an engaged and smart person. But what I see come from the government is crap. So then logic says she can’t be as smart as she maybe seems

But the choices. Yikes.

Driving into Brantford on Mother's day my wife and I noted a brand new commercial park. Jobs created to put up all those buildings. Jobs created to staff all those buildings. Creates a spin-off effect in the local economy.

We did note that one restaurant location which goes through major renovations every couple of years is now a Taco Bell. The last restaurant that did well at that location was a franchise so maybe this one takes.

Didn't drive downtown to see the new YMCA that is a bit of a sore point because to build it we gutted a lot of architectural history.

Mohawk College pulled out of Brantford when we wouldn't toss more money at them. Conestoga College decided to occupy that vacancy. Laurier Brantford is thriving.

Believe me, Brantford has seen much worse days. People are starting to sound optimistic.

We no longer have any coal fired generated plants in Ontario.....a plan started before her but was accomplished a year early by her gov't.

As far as infrastructure, do the liberals not have the largest budget for improving infrastructure in Ontario history?

59, 300 part-time jobs were lost. Are we arguing correlation or causation? And that was January 2018.

March 2018 saw a full-time job gain of 16, 000 while losing part-time jobs of 5, 700.

What is not reported, if it is even known, is whether or not those who are losing part-time work are finding full-time employment.

Since 2013 the unemployment rate in Ontario has dropped from 7.8% to 5.5%

Nice to see that Brantford, which at one time had double-digit unemployment is not the leader in this stat in Ontario anymore. Barrie at 8.8% unemployment is the worst city in Ontario unemployment wise.

Oshawa holds the best number at 4.5% unemployment (as of March's labour market report.

Any "conclusions" offered before the studies end is probably not interested in the data being gathered.

Aaand another old political chestnut gets dusted off, this time by the PCs: Opening up beer and wine sales to more retail outlets, including convenience stores.

NDP and Liberals rule out corner store sale of beer and wine in Ontario | CBC News

This is one that get trotted out by one party or another periodically and only Wynne has ever gone any distance on it. She's allowing beer and cider sales in 450 stores, mostly large grocery outlets like Loblaws and Walmart Superstores, and also allowing 300 of those to sell wine. But she insists that's as far as it needs to go. Horwath agrees with Wynne.

I have mixed feelings about it. I'm not sure we need alcohol being sold on every corner, but expanding the current system to more grocery stores would be nice, I think.

Selling a public utility to private interests, and converting it to a for-profit company, then wondering why rates go up, is sort of bizzarre.

Such can occur when the negative is lack of power of knowledge and much emotions to do destructive things to bring things down ... just for the sake of it ... downs! Tis depressing thoughts causing a resurrection ... sometimes elevating thoughts ...

All alcohol sales are evil ... why Jesus drank lighter spirits ... 0.5%?

So some would claim although not even being there at the time of the conjuncture ... of the soul component with light!

And lighter word can flit about ...
