I think the panentheist is my wishful thinking...like reincarnation. I really like reincarnation, but I know it's because that's what I'd like to happen. And like heaven. It's clearly a self-soothing device.

isn't it more self-soothing to " live like you like" , even at the expense of others, after all , no repercussions in the end

It is not, because you reap what you sow. Better to live life respecting and serving others.

bb, I've been an atheist most of my life. I have discovered over the course of living that life that I am a wholer, happier person if I work for the common good in the community of other people who are trying to be kind. There's no fear, no coercion in my life. I KNOW that everything will be well, on some kind of Universal Scale of Justice. I live largely as I like to. I have friends/family and critters and books and hobbies and I nip from one to another quite happily.

No doubt. It should be easy to convince the atheist about the existence of satan knowing that this world offers a pretty good look at satan to where people blame Most High for all the mess and calamity.
