God create 'th and man created the sin of who should have and who should not ... thus breaking the law of equity all to hell ...

Some were even convinced they shouldn't know such stuff goes on as activity in polity ... radicalism? later it became to be po'really understood as avarice ... but we're not supposed to know that so as to support success and succession of the rich and powerful ... that's ineffable!

Well, we're in mid-November and my attention is starting to turn toward Advent. In that vein, I've been reading some of the Scripture passages that deal with being prepared. The Parable of the Ten Virgins is a fascinating and difficult one. Here are some of my thoughts about just one aspect of it:

My Faith Thoughts: A Thought For The Week Of November 13, 2017
Hi Revsdd---Of all passages you could have chosen ,"the one that was read " that started my walk with GOD'.
I am sorry Steven but I believe your a mile off "in your Idea what God"is saying here".

I believe all were following GOD", they all" new what was expected of them" . Yes they all did fall asleep. As we or they did not know when Our Lord " will come". The five that had no oil" , for there Lamps. Would not be able to see ." For they were in the dark". The five that went with the Lord " had no trouble at all" finding Him" For they had "The Light". For The Light" Shows us The Way". If we have not" The Spirit Of GOD". We are not ready Minister". When GOD " came into The world . It Was In Darkness. GOD" said" Let There Be Light". GOD knew Mankind was not to live in Darkness" But in The Light From Heaven". And The Light was in The world" . And The World knew Him" not. JESUS." Is The Light" for Mankind . Steven Preach "that sermon " As GOD wrote It. For All Glory Is His".-- Your Brother In Christ" airclean33-Gord.

Hey this is the conversation I am going to have with George. It is not true that any or all of us may be surprised on Judgement day. That is why we got parables. So we can be ready and know.

Are there not similarities in the 10 virgin story to this?

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Same thing, both turned away by Jesus.
One group no oil, the other group thinks their works will be sufficient.

Can one feel secure enough about the oil in their lamp to sleep securely? Gord has supplied the best answer to what oil is. Jesus in the other parable makes it plain that oil does not equal works.

Now if we check these parables against the gospel, say in John 3:16-21, we can have assurance of the hope within us. No worries about Jesus turning us away.

But who will be turned away? Those who may call themselves followers if Jesus. But they do not trust in Jesus to save them. They are good. They can save themselves by their own works. They don’t need Jesus blood. But far worse for the teacher who lead them down that path.

For me this is a Great Parable in showing the difference in the 2 groups of Christians and how it will effect both in the end -----True Christians who are diligent in their following of Christ and the False Christians who like to call themselves Christians cause it sounds good who think they are diligent followers of Christ by confessing they are followers of Christ ----The True Christians are prepared they came with the oil for their lamps so their profession for Christ is in there mouth and heart --The False Christians came with the lamps but not the oil ------they only professed they are a follower but it was not in their hearts -----

Matthew 15:8
New International Version
"'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Verse 5 does say they all fell asleep waiting for the bridegroom ---so why is that -----For me it is saying True Christians and False Christians will both lay down to sleep --both will die ---- but when the call comes both will wake up from their dead sleep and both will be subject to judgment ----The False Christians will be scurrying to get it right but it will be to late as the door is shut and there is no redoing what is already done ---

verse ---- 12 But He replied, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I do not know you [we have no relationship].’ 13 Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour [when the Son of Man will come].

We are to make sure we have our right relationship with Jesus and not assume we have it right -----it is so easy to say we follow Christ when in our hearts we follow other humans words and follow what our Religion says ----we are to follow God's instructions for salvation and stay alert as to our actions of Faith ---We must not ever get weary of waiting for Christ's return but stay alert and be prepared at all times ------

It is so important for True Christ--ians to preach the Truth of the Word ------not what we want or what we think ----God has provided and equipped us to preach His word His way with His Truth by and through the Holy Spirit -----It is very important that people know that for all eternity they are either going to a place of torment or to a place of bliss ----from there they can make up their own mind as to where they want to end up ----if we fudge the scripture then it is on us for providing false information to anyone who we preach to ------and will we be judge in the end for deceiving people is the big question ------

If we can Rightly Divide the Word of Truth ---Then we can Wrongly Divide the Word of Truth ------

--Hi Pontifex Geronimo--
My belief Geronimo" is that you don't want to go into The Day Of Judgement". If your name is in The Lamb's book of life" . I believe you are saved already ", and don. 't go to Judgement ", Christ has paid that for us". Jesus " gave His Life For Us." . He" who was without sin , became sin for our sake". God Bless Brother. airclean33-Gord.

That appears to be the comfortable truth ... or not ... if someone is just trying to sell something!

Indulgences are adequate in whatever form ....

And your trying to sell what"Luce?

Chaos ... in the end that's all left if you cannot join emotions and intelligence ... tis rejected by radicals ... and mediums don't count ... so much chit .. simple people can't see the complexity!

Sort of like Leer's caldron ...

This is why it is so important to preach the Truth to the Church -----The 5 Virgins were without the oil because they didn't have Christ in their heart in the first place all they had was the lamp in their hand so they were short of completing their Salvation so it was not secured --maybe because of False teachers ---someone lead them astray or they were ignorant of the Truth and they ended up with no hope of eternal Bliss -----

The last paragraph in this Article tells us their judgment in the end ----

What does the Bible say about when God will judge us?
Question: "What does the Bible say about when God will judge us?"

Answer:
There are two separate judgments. Believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). Every believer will give an account of himself, and the Lord will judge the decisions he made—including those concerning issues of conscience. This judgment does not determine salvation, which is by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), but rather is the time when believers must give an account of their lives in service to Christ. Our position in Christ is the “foundation” spoken of in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. That which we build upon the foundation can be the “gold, silver, and precious stones” of good works in Christ’s name, obedience and fruitfulness—dedicated spiritual service to glorify God and build the church. Or what we build on the foundation may be the “wood, hay and stubble” of worthless, frivolous, shallow activity with no spiritual value. The Judgment Seat of Christ will reveal this.

The gold, silver and precious stones in the lives of believers will survive God’s refining fire (v. 13), and believers will be rewarded based on those good works—how faithfully we served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27), how well we obeyed the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), how victorious we were over sin (Romans 6:1-4), how well we controlled our tongues (James 3:1-9), etc. We will have to give an account for our actions, whether they were truly indicative of our position in Christ. The fire of God’s judgment will completely burn up the “wood, hay and stubble” of the words we spoke and things we did which had no eternal value. “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12 ).

The second judgment is that of unbelievers who will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). This judgment does not determine salvation, either. Everyone at the Great White Throne is an unbeliever who has rejected Christ in life and is therefore already doomed to the lake of fire. Revelation 20:12says that unbelievers will be “judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Those who have rejected Christ as Lord and Savior will be judged based on their works alone, and because the Bible tells us that “by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified” (Galatians 2:16), they will be condemned. No amount of good works and the keeping of God’s laws can be sufficient to atone for sin. All their thoughts, words and actions will be judged against God’s perfect standard and found wanting. There will be no reward for them, only eternal condemnation and punishment.

Do we as Ministers really want to be the cause of the Church we Preach to going to their eternal condemnation and punishment because we feel we can interpret Scripture the way we want to and it doesn't matter if we present False Doctrine and Bear False witness to God's word which says It is Truth when it says very clearly how to secure our Salvation so we end up in the right place -----

unsafe, if you don't think people are entitled to "interpret" scripture, why do you constantly post cut and paste missives using, almost always, 3 or 4 different translations? Wouldn't it make more sense to you if you trusted one translation?

Once again it sounds like you feel it is us that secures our salvation.

Why would anyone need oil or even a lamp if God is leading the way?

One needs a spark to see into the occult? Thus the need for de Lam' ... and thoughts went on de lam ... lighter and brighter if you get the metaphor for something incarnate ... (appearing is isn't) ...

BetteTheRed -----your quote -----unsafe, if you don't think people are entitled to "interpret" scripture, why do you constantly post cut and paste missives using, almost always, 3 or 4 different translations? Wouldn't it make more sense to you if you trusted one translation?

unsafe says and posted 3 scriptures
What is the difference in these different translations on how to get saved ---all same the same thing -----only one way to be saved ---you either take the free gift of Grace or you refuse it -----

Romans 10:9(NKJV)
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 (AMP)
9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 (CSB)
9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

unsafe says
If you believe something in your heart you will speak it cause you have confidence in your belief ---- bible says out of your heart the mouth speaks -----different translations all say the same thing -----

Luke 6:45
Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

New Living Translation
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

English Standard Version
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

You've just posted a great example. The Amplified Bible, passage above, actually gives TWO requirements for salvation - acknowledging Jesus AND speaking this acknowledgement aloud. The other two just require you to speak this belief aloud.

Waterfall ----your quote -----Once again it sounds like you feel it is us that secures our salvation.

Why would anyone need oil or even a lamp if God is leading the way?

unsafe says ----

It is definitely us who secure our salvation ------and the Parable of the 10Virgins is a good example of that ----

The lamp is saying we believe Jesus is God and we follow God but in our heart we don't believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead ---so your not saved as believing that Jesus was raised by God from the dead is part of the Salvation process -there is no half being saved ---your either saved or your not ----The Oil is what makes the lamp light up --so the oil represents the believing in your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead ----you need the lamp and the oil to secure your Salvation ----

unsafe says ---and posted definition and
Now some believe that God picks certain individuals to save ----so for these people they have no say in their Salvation is it all God who chooses them ---this is based on God's Sovereignty -----

Sovereignty of God, his absolute right to do all things according to his own good pleasure ( Daniel 4:25 Daniel 4:35 ; Romans 9:15-23 ; 1 Timothy 6:15 ; Revelation 4:11 ).

That goes against this scripture that says
-----Titus 2:11---Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

unsafe says and posted scripture
The scripture I quoted in post #536 above is what I believe and that is this -----

Romans 10:9(NKJV)
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

So here we see if you ----if you personally confess and believe ---all up to us to do as the scripture says to really secure our Salvation ---God did His Part ---we have a choice to receive the free gift that God has provided for us or we reject it ---or we do half of the scripture ---confess with our mouth that Jesus is God but don't believe He was raised from the dead ------

unsafe says
God had already done His Job to bring us and provide us with a way back to heaven to be eternally with Him -----we have free will to choose ----

Now I do believe that God already knows the people who will accept and reject His free offer because He is all knowing but I do not believe He Himself chooses certain people to save and let all others go to hell ------

Because scripture clearly says God is Not a respecter of persons ---and if God chose certain people to be saved and certain people to go to hell he would be a respecter of persons would He Not ------God Himself knows who will accept His Offer ---but no one is forced to accept ---that is my believe

The parable is saying that no matter how prepared we think we are, we can be caught unaware. The five virgins with oil didn't go to sleep just comfortably waiting for the Lord, as was suggested above. They just fell asleep. They got tired. They didn't remain active. They didn't remain vigilant. This is suggested by the words "they all became drowsy." For that very reason, Paul tells us to stay awake. To remain vigilant. Because it's easy for us to nod off.
