How much do you pay for David's? At work we sell it for $3.40 a cup!

$8.00 for 50g of Orange Pekoe (which should be c. 20 cups). You're overcharging badly, IOW.

There is also something called David's Breakfast tea. I take it that they're two different blends? At my work, we sell mostly the latter, as well as something called Cream of Earl Gray.

Yes. I prefer David's Breakfast. Their English and Irish Breakfast are a bit weak.

I'll be making a pot of Cream of Earl Grey shortly. I have a tin in my credenza. It's also $8/50g.

You're not buying it by individual cup then. Oh, and the company I work for sets the prices, not I. When you say $8, are you including taxes?

No, that's base but even with the government's 13% added, it's much less per cup than your employer charges. IME, buying tea by the cup is a serious rip-off, to be honest. The per gram price of even bag tea is much cheaper. And the green and oolong I drink, which are from either China or local Asian stores, are even cheaper.

There are different breakfast teas. David's Breakfast tea is good. Irish Breakfast is a stronger more flavorful blend.

I'm going to have to try David's Breakfast again.......

I don't drink the breakfast teas much, actually. I like their Orange Pekoe and La La Lemon for breakfast. From Tea Haus, there is Peach, Blackberry, and Sunday Tea (black with a hint of French Vanilla).

I would not allow myself to drink something called "La La Lemon." David's makes some good blends for winter/Christmastime. I've sampled them at my sisters' houses. There used to be a nice nonconglomerate tea shop near Yobo's flower store. They used to make a nice Smoky Chai tea.

Organic black tea from Yunnan province flavoured with mandarin orange and lemon for the win.(y) Little M likes it, too, and took a can to Ottawa with him (he drinks tea in the afternoon and coffee in the morning).

And predates La La Land by several years so has nothing to do with movie musicals.

Similar to our Tea Haus, I imagine. As good as David's is (and David's is, at this point, an independently owned Canadian chain so I see no issue with patronizing them), the locals are generally just as good and can be, but aren't always, cheaper.

If they would call it "Citrus-Flavored Organic Black" or something, I'd try it. However, the name "La La Lemon" is simply too effeminate for me.

Pretty sure "effeminate" is an incorrect term when applied to females. Will consult dictionary.

From Webster's: effeminate: having feminine qualities untypical of a man; not manly in appearance or manner.

Maybe the definition is changing in common use?

Right, sorry, I guess I mean feminine...? Just saying that the name sounds to me to be one designed for marketing the product to women.

See, to me, "La La Lemon" is just being light and joyful. It's about singing merrily to yourself as you sip your tasty lemon/orange tea. Anyone can be light and joyful regardless of gender, orientation, etc. Nothing feminine or masculine involved.

Okay. At any rate, I prefer not to be light and joyful. I'd rather be rich and robust.
