You don't have to worry about Mexico, Donald has hired the Clinton foundation to do the magic they did for Haiti.
 
The Red Cross also struggled to help Haiti. And perhaps the Clinton Foundation isn't the best, but if that's true, show us why, and show us who is better.

And again, straight from the Trump school of deflection. Trump's own charity looks far worse, but every time that's brought up, Trump will attack the Clinton Foundation. Fer cryin out loud, he called Maryl Streep "overrated". He attacks anyone who dares criticize him. Deflect and attack. Deflect and attack. I'm not the problem, you're the problem! It's obvious what he does, and it's going to wear thin and be recognized for what it is by more people.

He has no simple answers. There are none. And we're going to have a front row seat to what happens these next four years.

If only the world was like this. Like how Donald Trump has convinced people it is.

Actions have consequences. Many unintended. Many unexpected. But the U.S. doesn't even know its own history, so they'll lap up simple answers to complicated problems. Just like they lap up simple religious beliefs. They're intertwined, and Trump is exploiting that angle as well. The least religious president-elect ever, has the backing of most American Christians. Because he says things like he will be the best job maker God ever created. You can manipulate Christians so easily. So many will believe anything they want to hear. They're conditioned to believe. True, lots of Christians are aghast. More are enthralled.

Actually, Trump got the support of evangelical Christians not by promising to be the best job maker ever, but by basically promising to appoint anti-abortion judges to the Supreme Court. For a lot of evangelical and Roman Catholic Christians that's THE issue. Nothing else really matters. That and (at least for evangelical/conservative Protestants) unquestioning, unwavering support for Israel. Trump basically promised both and got the evangelical and RC vote, which is a powerful voting bloc.

But they are enthusiastic about more than that. They aren't saying he's a terrible person who is giving them what they want in one or two key areas - Christians are backing him completely.

No, they're not saying he's a terrible person. In fact, since he's anti-abortion and pro-Israel (or at least claims to be) they probably don't think he's a terrible person at all. Because those are the things that really count to them. They don't care if he grabs women by the ***** or mocks disabled journalists or is barely literate at times or is up to his eyeballs in conflict of interest or whatever. He's anti-abortion and pro-Israel. That's enough.

And, sadly, I can think of persons on the left who would vote for a candidate just because they were the opposite. Letting a few very specific issues define one's politics without seeing a bigger picture helps, IMHO, foment the politics of division and the left-right rancor we keep seeing.

Agreed. I wasn't suggesting that it's only Trump supporters who fall into that trap. It's just that it's Trump and his supporters who are under discussion here.
 
It's too bad that there wasn't a way to include the public as to who gets nominated for each party. And a way that one could vote if they are displeased with all party leaders without throwing your vote away....such as if enough chose not to vote for anyone that those ballots could be counted and if there were enough, then new representation would have to be chosen. It just seems to me that there were many who were just voting by default because Bernie wasn't running or someone more acceptable.
 
I hope some day you guys will be able to look back at this thread and laugh at how unbelievably brainwashed you were.

We should have elections, and if it doesn't turn out the way we want, we should be able to do it over until we get what we want. Just like CNN says.

I don't know who you mean by "you guys" but I'm not asking for a do-over. Trump won fair and square according to the rules and he's going to be president. Whether he was the better candidate or is even qualified to be president is a matter of opinion.
 
Uh, everything Trump says on Twitter is like a red-herring. No, make that an orange hairing.

It's distraction and deflection. His army general has said in his sworn statements that Russia is a problem, that attempts to reset the relationship with them has had a poor track record, NATO is an important alliance - and that history serves as a guide to his viewpoint. He was appointed by Trump but fundamentally disagrees with what Trump has said in the "substance" of his tweets. The trumpies are going to be disappointed. Have they not noticed? While Trump is calling out the "fake news" the real news is going on.

I understand that's your opinion. I understand that you believe that Obama should somehow have prevented him from taking office by ordering another election (which, of course, Obama has no power whatsoever to do under the US Constitution.) My opinion is that Trump won fair and square according to the rules. I'm not happy that he won, and I think he's going to be a terrible and potentially dangerous president. Maybe he lied. Maybe he misrepresented his position on various issues. maybe he manipulated people. But he won. In my opinion fair and square.
 
Does Obama not have the power to interfere with a foreign spy operation that was tinkering with the media and subverting the elections? Is that not grounds to reschedule the election as a crisis intervention? I am sure there is a law somewhere that would allow him to do that...but I do not know enough about US constitutional law. I mean, now there's talk of impeachment shortly after Trump takes office. Seems to me, if there are enough grounds for impeachment - maybe more than Nixon and Bill Clinton combined (working with a foreign adversarial power to subvert an election is one heck of a big one, if true - so is holding so many business dealings with a country that the U.S.has sanctioned - not to mention him keeping his business in the family and appointing family to top positions, that can't be constitutional). If all the warning flags were there it seems to me there must be due process to prevent it prior to the election rather than wait to wade through potential impeachment.
