I wonder what Trudeau is going to be paying for.

Simple? Destroy Mexican industry, throw more people into poverty, creating a bigger problem south of the border and more people trying to get across.
Nothing here is simple. Donald Trump wants you to believe it is.
"Easily." "It's simple."The US has a 60 billion trade deficit with Mexico. Mexico can be persuaded to pay for a wall. Easily.
"Easily." "It's simple."
If only the world was like this. Like how Donald Trump has convinced people it is.
Actions have consequences. Many unintended. Many unexpected. But the U.S. doesn't even know its own history, so they'll lap up simple answers to complicated problems. Just like they lap up simple religious beliefs. They're intertwined, and Trump is exploiting that angle as well. The least religious president-elect ever, has the backing of most American Christians. Because he says things like he will be the best job maker God ever created. You can manipulate Christians so easily. So many will believe anything they want to hear. They're conditioned to believe. True, lots of Christians are aghast. More are enthralled.
That's the thing, how can you vote for those two key issues without voting for the terrible person?
No, they're not saying he's a terrible person. In fact, since he's anti-abortion and pro-Israel (or at least claims to be) they probably don't think he's a terrible person at all. Because those are the things that really count to them. They don't care if he grabs women by the ***** or mocks disabled journalists or is barely literate at times or is up to his eyeballs in conflict of interest or whatever. He's anti-abortion and pro-Israel. That's enough. But they are enthusiastic about more than that. They aren't saying he's a terrible person who is giving them what they want in one or two key areas - Christians are backing him completely.

Agreed. I wasn't suggesting that it's only Trump supporters who fall into that trap. It's just that it's Trump and his supporters who are under discussion here. And, sadly, I can think of persons on the left who would vote for a candidate just because they were the opposite. Letting a few very specific issues define one's politics without seeing a bigger picture helps, IMHO, foment the politics of division and the left-right rancor we keep seeing.
I don't know who you mean by "you guys" but I'm not asking for a do-over. Trump won fair and square according to the rules and he's going to be president. Whether he was the better candidate or is even qualified to be president is a matter of opinion.I hope some day you guys will be able to look back at this thread and laugh at how unbelievably brainwashed you were.
We should have elections, and if it doesn't turn out the way we want, we should be able to do it over until we get what we want. Just like CNN says.
He didn't win fair and square, though. He won with smoke and mirrors.I don't know who you mean by "you guys" but I'm not asking for a do-over. I understand that's your opinion. I understand that you believe that Obama should somehow have prevented him from taking office by ordering another election (which, of course, Obama has no power whatsoever to do under the US Constitution.) My opinion is that Trump won fair and square according to the rules. I'm not happy that he won, and I think he's going to be a terrible and potentially dangerous president. Maybe he lied. Maybe he misrepresented his position on various issues. maybe he manipulated people. But he won. In my opinion fair and square. He didn't win fair and square, though. He won with smoke and mirrors.
