That's like saying that if the ship is sinking, it is okay to save my family andlet yours drown. If I can save, or even try to save, both, I should.

I'm predicting that one day George will be recognized as the prophet he is. Watch for the whirlwind of karma, or whatever you'd like to call it.

I think what makes me the saddest about Western murder is that we are not accountable for it. We like to do it under the table, using mechanisms like unmanned drones to kill the 'other' and denial of healthcare and provision of poisoned water to our own disposable populations.

"Non believers" sounds too kindly. We were his enemies. Now, as for why we only look after ourselves, it's because we want to be above others. You can hear that in the way a few Christians here on WC2 claim to not be sinners, not be broken, etc.

Then why are some of the spiritual gifts ones meant to reach outside the body? Evangelism comes most immediately to mind.

Right, hence my second sentence beginning with an "If". If I can save only one, altruistic as I might be, I know I'll try to save my own unless there is some reason I cannot in which case I will save whoever I can, Christian or not. However, I don't think saving populations from oppression falls under that rubric. We can, and should, act against the Arab countries for their treatment of Christians (and, incidentally, Shiite Muslims who are often oppressed in the Sunni countries) AND CAR and Burma for their treatment of Muslims AND the the various countries that persecute homosexuals for their treatment of gays, and so on. If we are being selective in which oppression we oppose, it is not about inability, it about choice.
 
Hi Mendalla--I only posted it because I not believe the children we allowed to be killed in this country. We as Christians should be ashamed . The GOD I follow said to those who would hurt the little ones, it would be better they had never been born.

Jesus calls us to care for others with selfless, sacrificial love. God connects us with certain people with whom we're most especially to live out that cruciform way.

The bible does not recognize fetuses as "little ones" or "children". It requires birth. I'm sure PG-13 will argue with me, but the texts he's going to use are not recognized by Jews as condemning abortion. I tend to trust the originators of the text when it comes to first guesses as to original meeting. If the Jewish religion is pro-choice, which it is, I'm good with that.

And now let's drop the abortion argument and return to arguing about which god various religions worship.

--Is there not enough problems in you own house ? That you think you should go to save the world? God has a plan for salvation for all who will come , JOHN3: 16. Do you have a another, better one? Christian Denominations can hardly stand each other. They fight among them self's. They try and steal followers from one another. They watch there brother church's close there doors, but don't reach" out to help each other. LOVE YOU ONE ANOTHER. These to me are my neighbors," those who follow Christ Jesus are the living. Those who are in the world , are called the dead. Is GOD not the raiser" of the dead? We are to preach Christ to The World". We are to Preach the one" an only way", Jesus The Christ.
