UFO's

Being adamant about our biases doesn't stop us from seriously discussing ... let's see ... religion in general, Christianity in general, politics, the review of Gretta Vosper, the Lord's prayer, Donald Trump, the charismatic movement, Christian-Muslim relations, various aspects of health care, mysticism, the value of anecdotal evidence, biblical hermeneutics and interpretation, the identity of Jesus, the trial and acquittal of Jian Ghomeshi, etc., etc. Why would adamant biases prevent us from seriously discussing UFOs?

I find the "habitable zone" conditions, restrictive. Possibly some life require it to be really hot or really cold?
And what if whatever eventually shows up at our door and it's just a green blob? How will we determine intelligence?.....and where would you hold the microphone for an interview?
Basically are we only looking for what we know?

There are sometimes things flying in the sky that we aren't able to identify.
Yes, but are they intelligent, are they watching us, have they done so in the past, have they contacted us in the past.

If they are intelligent, then it wouldn't take a genius to know that dropping onto the front lawn of the White House or in front of 10 Downing Street may not be the wisest way of initial contact. Public panic is probably one of the last things they would want to create. This is one of the reasons, it's believed, for the thousands of "credible" sightings all over the world, and for the existence, for instance, of the annual crop circles that have appeared over the last few decades. The latter could be a subtle "calling cards," letting us know that something incredible is happening in our world today.

If they do originate within our Solar System, as some of have suggested in that they are exist in a "higher vibration" than our current technology can detect, then one would think that the combination of our ability to create nuclear weapons and to travel into space must have them concerned.

Is there proof of contact in the past, in the archaeological artifacts around the world, or in our various religious scriptures? I personally would say "yes", overwhelming but as yet circumstantial proofs.

What if they were beings of "light" instead of solid matter like we are? And if so, what if they had the ability to slow down their vibration so that we could see when they wanted to be seen? What if they were telepathic?

I know, a lot of "what if's", but these are just 'food for thought' questions.

UFOs obviously exist. Things in the air that we can't identify. I've seen strange lights myself. Only once was it serious enough that I went to the trouble of reporting it, and was told that there had been other calls. Do I know what it was? No.

Some UFOs I'm sure are just strange lights with perfectly legitimate explanations. Others? Who knows.

Could they be extraterrestrial? I suppose. Unlike some, I'm also not convinced that there "must be" life out there just because the universe is so big. I just simply don't know. If they were extraterrestrial, then they have very advanced technology to be able to get here (unless they're hidden in our own solar system) making me wonder why they'd care about li'l ole us. We've just barely (barely, barely) made it out of our own solar system - and only with an unmanned ship. True, we study ants - so I can understand that being lower on the scale might not mean that we're uninteresting, but still it would take a long time or very advanced technology to get to us. I just wonder if we'd be worth the trouble. Or is it just human arrogance, thinking that everyone in the vastness of the universe must just find Earth the most fascinating place around?

Could they be spiritual? I suppose - although I'm less convinced of that possibility.

Well, I'm no scientist or UFO investigator Neo, but I'll speak from my gut. Some, possibly, probably, perhaps.

Crop circles have been shown to be a hoax, put forward by a bunch of bored farmers.

Them as have intelligences to be so concerned.

Agreed.

As for their fear of our nuclear weapons, the United States already has the capacity to intercept nuclear missiles - not perfectly, but the defense systems exist and the development of the technology is ongoing. I would think that a technologically more advanced culture would have perfected the art of taking out a primitive missile.
