Why are only attacks on Hews considered to be anti semitic?
In fact, the term was coined by the anti-Semites, not the Jews according to multiple sources including Britannica. In 1879, an anti-Jewish agitator named William Marr called his movement the Antisemites League to try to distinguish his secular anti-Semitism from the religious anti-Semitism of earlier periods. The name stuck and both sides started using it. So, no, it is not a Zionist thing. In fact, quite the opposite.

Thanks, wasn't aware of that specific background to the term.

Interesting!

I should have checked the history. But it should still include the Palestinians aling with Jews.

Why change the meaning of a word that is more than a century old? It will just create more confusion in an already confusing mess of a situation. In fact, changing the definition to make Israeli Jews "anti-Semitic" for their treatment of Palestinians just opens a massive can of worms and probably plays right into the hands of the anti-semites. It solves nothing, just generates confusion and conflict.

What about words millennium old that have been submerged in dark space-time? Out there a gross BH?

In there somewhere a corner to light in ...allay a pyre?

Thank you for the links. Israel is making the whiole world unsafe for Jews.
The argument could be made that part of the problem is the seeming inability of people to separate the two and recognize that criticism of Israel can, and should, be done without using anti-Semitic attacks on Jews. That picketing and vandalizing synagogues and calling for attacks, legal or otherwise, on Jewish businesses and organizations is anti-Semitism, pure and simple, not valid criticism of Israel.

And lets be honest, the rapes and murders committed by Hamas aren't helping the Palestinian cause much either. There's blood on too many hands on both sides at this point.

The rapes have not been confirmed just as rapes by the IDF have not been confirmed. Also the Israeli forces mistakenly killed several Israelis including a family of 12 people in the confusion. The IDF took many hospital staff as prisoners and tortured them. There is blood on hands on many sides.

We are trying to talk about this in my Tuesday night group; it is not going well. Colonial mentality is difficult

Down the tube it goes ... a colon? The pipes declared by triumphant means to drain the systems ... it always regurgitates ... resurgently?
