New Ready for Harvest focussing on the small, fringe denomination Assemblies of Yahweh. Among other differences with mainstream Christianity, they insist on using the words "Yahweh" and "Yahshua" for the Father and Son respectively and reject the Trinity, arguing that the Holy Spirit emanates from Yahweh and Yahshua rather than being a person itself.

Interestingly, they refuse to get politically involved to the extent of not even voting and are pacificists who refuse military service.

The diversity of faith that has come out of the history of people claiming to follow Jesus/Yahshua, esp. since the Reformation, continues to amaze and intrigue me.

Orthodox Christianity has always accepted the NT teaching that "the Holy Spirit emanates from Yahweh and Yahshua," both of whom manifest "personally" through their love. So how is their denial of the Personhood of the Holy Spirit even meaningful, given that the Holy Spirit mediates the personal experience of God and Christ? What do they even mean by the "person" they deny?

Ask them. As I read it, to the Assemblies, the Holy Spirit is an attribute of Yahweh and Yahshua, not a being in its own right. Or something like that. And, of course, you lot are a bunch of heretics for thinking otherwise. :giggle:

Orthodox Christianity affirms that God is one and rejects the idea that the Trinity consists of 3 distinct beings.

Orthodox ... sometimes means firmly instituted in a word that is poorly understood ... knowledge and the like are evil!

They adhere to the affinity of singularity ... for all or nothing!

There it is again and do we know it ... nothing? It is an experience that some cannot visualize as they believe they are everything ... are these concepts spontaneous (said to burst out of nothing)? Confuses the mortals ... as Nietzsche declared: "all is chaos"! How do we escape it ... therein a suggestion, hint or other indication! The pot is thus stirred with a few spiritual bodies for sharp flavoring ... there is this cartoon image of a theologian in a stew! It was the greatest mix-up that you have ever seen ... all about ontological means or not ... rendered by Shakespeare as: "Toby or naught!"

Have you ever examined the meaning of Tobias? It can split a crowd ...
Origin:Hebrew. Meaning:God is good. Tobias is a boy's name deriving from Hebrew and Greek roots, meaning "God is good." Thanks to the Book of Tobias in the Deuterocanon/Apocrypha of the Bible, this name became popular for parents of the Christian and Jewish faith.
If God is love is that good or something encouraging lay bouts? Thus bouts of them also ... everyone at some time is exposed to believing they are ide ... thus initiates! What will be is to be ... it may warp at high speed! So slow down you extremists ... take a breathe Eire ...
