We're aware of and concerned about "the third world."

Where is "the second world" and what is life like there?

When the language was first used the 2nd world was used to talk about the Soviet bloc, sometimes people included China in it, sometime China was included in the 3rd world.

SOme people now talk about the 2/3rds world to talk about the developing world.
