Believe that the God who spoke creation into existence is powerful enough to do it exactly as He said...jaebius, I believe you believe in too small a god. If your faith is based on believing the Bible is to be taken literally, your faith is based on sand. I appreciate a god able to work over billions of years. Everything in the world is amazing when examined closely.
SameI have more respect for a god who works through creation yhan a magical god.

That many scientists have been Christians, GordW, doesn't automatically prove Genesis should be read non-historically.Except Genesis is a theology book, not a history or science book. MAny great scientists have been Christian.
Dinosaurs and humans were created together on Day 6 (Gen 1:24-31).
Death entered thru Adam's sin (Rom 5:12).
The global Flood was a great judgment that explains the fossil record (Gen 6-9).
Let's be honest. Everybody has presuppositions.
The secular scientist starts with naturalism and interprets the evidence thru that lens.
The Christian starts with God's revelation and interprets the evidence thru that lens. The real debate's power
That many scientists have been Christians, GordW, doesn't automatically prove Genesis should be read non-historically.
Many scientists throughout history believed Scripture described real events in Earth's history.
Genesis's both theological and historical.
If God acted in history, then a theological account of those actions is also describing real events. The Exodus is theology and history. So's the Resurrection.
Genesis should be treated no differently
Your belief puts words written by humans above God's living Word made visible in the world and beyond. That many scientists have been Christians, GordW, doesn't automatically prove Genesis should be read non-historically.

How so?Your belief puts words written by humans above God's living Word made visible in the world and beyond.
The physical world testifies of being billions of years old and humans leaving Africa over 100,000 years ago.How so?
There's a difference, jim, between evidence and interpretation. The physical world testifies of being billions of years old and humans leaving Africa over 100,000 years ago.
I agree with you here -----Genesis's both theological and historical.
