Big excitement yesterday here in town...I saw the cops blocking the alley just south of me after school but that's all I could see (no windows on the back of my house). Found out later that the cops were in town for 2 hours arresting two guys in the house behind mine - one guy apparently ran through a neighbour's yard and tried to hide. Later in the evening, a flatbed arrived and hauled away 2 vehicles including a large U-Haul truck from the property behind me. Hopefully the guys don't come back!

We had Boston Police cars around the neighborhood last week. They were filming a series with Scarborough standing in for Boston.

A local church was the Boston Police station. Funny thing is an actual police station is only a few blocks away.

The LAST time I saw filming it was in a Time Horton s plaza.

Probably easier to get permission to use a church than a Cop Shop. Possibly all sorts of privacy issues around the latter.

That's the kind of excitement I could do without. Though if they were hauling vehicles, I suspect this was property crime rather than violent crime at least.

Good old Hollywood North. We had crews shooting in Hamilton from time to time when I lived there. I've been a fan of some shows blatantly shot in Toronto. Forever Knight, about a vampire working (yes, it's meant to be ironic) as a homicide detective was shot in Toronto and ran on (IIRC) CTV here and CBS in the US. Didn't even disguise that it was Toronto in that case. Lead was Geraint Wyn Davies who has been working in Stratford for years now and the opening had the sun setting behind the Toronto skyline ... from the wrong angle. And the handling of the police work was rather American as well. Basically an American cop show set in Toronto with one of the cops being 700 years old and living on bags of blood smuggled to him by his friend, the local coroner. The cop show part was often a bit meh other than his partner being entertaining comic relief, and it was the vampire part, esp. the lead's interactions with his former vampire friends who were rather derisive of his attempt to "go straight" (so to speak), that was interesting to me as someone fond of the undead in those days.

Man that's a long LAST post.

Drugs and property crime are alleged - haven't seen anything official yet. There is a rumour the guy who tried to hide had a gun but that's only rumour at this point.

That's it. I'm moving to Alberta (no, not really :giggle:). Not even going to get above -10C here until at least Sunday per the current forecast.

I couldn't live on the Prairies due to the flatness and the accompanying wind. I think it would drive me mad. It's funny what you get accustomed to (like fecking feet of snow in my case).

50 days til Spring, btw.
