Well, if I had to validate my account to get it back, I wouldn't know a bday that's not mine even though FB has decided it is! Meta does everything they can to make life harder for users.I'm only guessing here, but maybe it's a way to validate your account, so this would be in case someone else got control, answering questions like this would help you get it back?
Who am I kidding, Meta will never help recover an account. I've heard too many horror stories.
I suspect it also has much to do with the growing trend to require age validation on social media. The Aussie model (no or controlled social media access under a certain age) looks poised to spread and it only works if providers are validating people's claimed ages, not just letting you put any old thing in for your age. Though they should be able to regionalize that to locales where such laws are in force. There is no move that I am seeing to implement that here, just discussion and that discussion is mostly coming from the opposition, not the government.I'm only guessing here, but maybe it's a way to validate your account, so this would be in case someone else got control, answering questions like this would help you get it back?
Why would they change the birthdate on a profile? Might want to change your password or activate MFA if they have it (yeah, right, Meta do something that actually helps users secure their private informationOne can change their birthday/birth date any time and as many times as one wants on FB but if it is changed too many times in a short time period, FB will temporarily pause one's ability to change it again.
Fine, but "I" didn't change it and it still won't let me change it back. And it was correct when I went to bed LAST night so it is a recent change.
I'm close to ditching it but that is the only way I can connect with some important people in my life. And then people wonder why I won't use any Meta properties.![]()
