I'm hoping the rain stays away till after my lawn is mowed - fingers crossed for today - I got the guy mom used to hire to do it.

Yesterday, I did something crazy...went to my 2nd fav greenhouse for their end of season sale and bought 2 asparagus plants (I have one in the yard but it has never really produced) and a dozen strawberry plants...I now have an asparagus/strawberry bed and another just strawberry bed to give me 3 small strawberry beds in total around the garden...fingers crossed they all thrive
 
Wow. Bonus. I used to have a teenager to mow my lawn. Didn't have to pay him either, just gave him a bed and some food. But then he grew up and moved to Ottawa. Apparently designing computer chips pays better than mowing lawns. :ROFLMAO:

Lawn is already looking better and it's not done...way back in the day, this guy was the teenager working under Dad when Dad was the Public Works guy in town.
 
My lawn is mowed!!!!!!! Alas, it isn't as lushly green as it was before but even so, it looks way better. Fingers crossed I'll be able to keep on top of the mowing for the rest of the season - if the clover takes off, I'll have less to mow :)
 
Sun came out late in the afternoon. Hope this is the end of the rain and then maybe I can even do the grass tomorrow.

Blue skies and sun today. Perfect weather for our national holiday, at least here in Southern Ontario.
 
Watching the coverage of the Parliament Hill celebrations on CBC - find it very interesting that they didn't show us all of Justin's pre-recorded speech
 
Sunny here (again). Though our original forecast of mild to slightly hot and sunny for the week is changing rapidly. Now we have a warm, steamy one tomorrow with a risk of shower or thunderstorms in the afternoon.
