Quebec has turned anti human rights/ white supremasty.

Quebec is very secular/anti-religion.

I don't think we're talking the same things, here. I get that the Quebec supreme court triggered the MAID mess, but they really are a different culture, and I think we have to respect that.

Me neither. But I see it as a facet of Western culture, not particular to a provincial sub-group.

I love being an alarmist? That is the headline from

Yeah, we noticed......

Rita, I get a bit frustrated because you seem to be upset at the word lockdown, but don't seem to be able to really identify it.

What are you, or others, "not allowed to do that you need to do" that would make us understand what that word means to you?

It's just taken hold in certain provinces more than others - Quebec is a noteable example.

It is very interesting to note what happens when a cultural group swings wildly from very religious (RCC; cathedrals/fancy churches everywhere; have you ever been to Quebec?) to wildly secular/anti-religious. Check out Ste-Anne De Beaupre, for excessive religiosity, lol.

The same shift to secularism has happened elsewhere, but maybe just not as wide a swing.

Kimmio, have you ever considered wondering why instead of condemning?

Of course. But when it's affecting vulnerable people's human rights, it's time to condemn. I don't have the comfortable luxury of treating it like a "thought experiment".

I am upset with the "lockdowns" not the word.

This is not about me as an individual ... I have not suffered due to "lockdown" ... I have not had to do anything against my will ... well actually ... I have against my will been excluded from voluntary visits to the 'old folks' at home so to speak. My concern is for the future ... of all my relations ... not just my closest ones.

Rita, people protesting restrictions, and masks and opposing vaccination - and the odd lesser experienced doctor acting as expert but who may not actually be on the side of the most vulnerable, but has partisan motivations to tell right wing white people what they want to hear - are dragging out the very real pandemic

So, why are we using this word "lockdown"?

Clearly, with a few exceptions, like hospitals and nursing homes, no-one has been in "lockdown", under any kind of definition of the word.

Does anyone dispute that places like nursing homes and hospitals, would save more lives if they restrict personal contact? Are we into living or dying?

Subject to this post ... I have put you back on ignore.

LOL. How? I saw you responded with a sad response to my post. You don't like feedback do you? I'm open to discussion. I'm not open to drama or unnecessary alarmist stuff. I've asked you to be specific. You have yet to answer a question directly and in your own words. You seem to prefer to deflect, avoid and disrupt instead. Please prove me wrong.

What is the reaction to an excess action against responsibility ... further elevated response?

Thus need for mediocre subliminal response that gets under the skin unknowingly ... it is great cover! Some say sublime cover since we cover that with fabrications so the bare sol is subdued ... underhanded mediocracy?

Media can be like that both ways ... troublesome for the one-way observations ...

May lead to metaphysical and ontological stuff! Far off thoughts?

Thanks for your critical commentary. Over all the years I have never rejected persons who question my position. In fact these questioners have been a large part of my learning. They help me discover my incorrect thinking, expressed as language, and work on remedy. My interest is not in who is right and who is wrong. My interest is solely in seeking truth as the way forward. This in the spirit of cooperation and not competition.
Do you ever consider that there are times when "refusing conformity to the patterns of power" can be a knee-jerk reaction that doesn't fit a particular situation?
I welcome this caution. This in the light of the prophetic traditions of all peoples. It requires determination to state my point of view clearly. That said, I am well aware that what I state is my point of view. I offer it only as a perspective. I would not be at all disappointed should history prove me wrong. Though history suggests that my insight is worth noticing and taking seriously.

What I do think is that because of your opposition to authority figures you tend to see things as right or wrong -and don't allow for more nuanced thinking.
From my earliest years I have been well aware that the corruption of power is leading the earth and its peoples in the direction of ruin. That power expressed as control over places and populations. A clear example would be our enlightened encounter with indigenous peoples on all continents.

My opposition is directed to persons who exercise power in service to profit at the expense of creation and it's peoples. My inspiration is rooted in the prophetic narratives of the Old Testament and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This not in any religious sense but in light of the truth that calls us to follow in its way. Sad to watch the powers distracting whole populations from what is actually happening in nature and in history. All while the corporate powers eliminate competition and move towards "absolute control over every living soul", as Leonard Cohen puts it.
