It was a work day for me. I have just got home, put out the dog, and I'm relaxing before I tackle enough of the kitchen that I've got enough room, and dishes, to make supper. Not a successful housework week.

Housework, Shmousework!

I need to be in the mood. I hate clutter and stay on top of the picking up, but cleaning usually waits for a rainy day. Sometimes for a second rainy day. I would rather organize a closet any day than wash the kitchen floor.

We have a schedule. Hard floors (vinyl and ceramic) get washed every weekend. Vacuuming of carpeted areas, dusting, bathrooms get done every other weekend. Toilets done as required. I do them when I wash the bathroom floors.

I won't even admit to how many rainy days have gone by since I LAST did housework...my strawberry plant in the flowerbed by the house is blooming! And my tulips aren't

Want to come visit me? We live in a small space so organizing is like a game of Tetris. I moved my yarn to a new spot. Now the stuff that where the yarn is now is on the couch. I do have a plan for it. It's just that it needs to happen when the mood hits.

The floors were well past due to be clean. They feel so much better underfoot. I put some lemon essential oil in the water when I changed it this time. Now the place smells fresher too.

I may not be doing any housework but I am doing stuff in the house - getting bags of items to sis to look at, adding to the sales (and selling!), and moving things around

My critters are totally the source of much of my mess. Lucy loves to churn up mud in 'her' backyard and track it through the house, the cat leaves a cloud of hair wherever she is (ragdoll).

found an old china set the other day...I don't remember ever seeing it (I know I've never washed or dusted it), sis said she's never seen it before...uncle said he's clueless as to where it could be from.

Which is why Mrs. M won't have furry critters in the house. She had to live with a dog (landlord's) in her student days and that was enough. Little M and his roomie have a cat now, though. His house, his rules. ;)

Very cultural. I didn't grow up with dogs, but with often more than one cat. At the record, there were five cats (no dogs) in this little house...twas busy, and probably smelly, lol.

and the dust bunnies are breeding here and getting bigger

In other news...the loaf of orange bread seems to have worked :)

LAST as I think of what I'll bake next (not today, I'm done baking for the day)...hmmmm, but I do need to come up with supper now

All other sets have been accounted for and remembered

I cleaned out TWO Murphy drawers today - one in a bathroom and one in the kitchen. I'd rather bake bread or buns though. I pick up the detritus most days but tend to leave the actual cleaning for some unspecified time in the distant future.
