The women divide the plunder ?

Why not? It’s not like there haven’t been different “eras” before. It could happen but if we are not allowing it to, we are just part of the problem.

I think it's idealistic dreaming. The fact is, there are nations who have vested interests in attacking one another. There will be wars and rumors of wars til Christ's return.

We are not part of the problem we are the problem
Yeah we are. We should be getting on God’s side not just accepting forgiveness and continuing to do so much harm...being God’s hands and feet as stewards to protect the planet and creation and each other, and not destroy it and each other. That’s why I can’t understand, for the life of me, “Christians for Trump”, Christian climate change deniers, Christian military apologists, Christian oil lobbyists, Christian money changers, Christians who want to build a wall to keep out migrants fleeing oppression for asylum, and Christians who turn children into orphans...it disturbs me.

I think you might want to take rant over to the politics section

Seriously ? please explain who can get in the way of God
Nobody, ultimately. Peace will come to pass eventually. We are not exactly helping lay the groundwork. Your view that it’s a daydream (or @Jae ‘s ) seems rather hopeless and not very life affirming. If you believe in a more literal return (to me it’s allegorical but just as crucial) - what does he have to celebrate with humanity, coming back to a scorched earth anyway? Where’s he supposed to lay his head?

The way we will know when Christ has returned is when we are at peace, though. Wherever there are peacemakers, there are the children of God - how do we know if we are peacemakers? We know if peace is being made. Where peace is being made, where greed is abolished, where there is healing of the planet and fairness and reconciliation, there is the evidence of Christ in us (irrespective of religion, by the way). War and greed do not produce “fruits of the Spirit”.

Of course I do not share your view of the second coming but,,,

It's hopeless without Jesus, thank God that Hes coming back because with Jesus alone its 100% hopeful

How else will you know Christ is finally back and ruling, if there is not lasting peace on the earth where, in the time which, you live? What are the beatitudes all about, then?

How can we be working with God, on God’s side, to bring about lasting peace, by advocating for those who support destruction of the planet? (We can’t.) How can we praise God while continuing to destroy creation? (we can’t.)

I think it’s relevant. You mentioned that humanity is the problem. I agree. But I also think we are here to be part of the solution...to change course away from war and greed, not support the powerful who perpetuate it, and to work with God to build a more just and peaceful world.

@Jae. I don’t mean you specifically, are doing anything any worse than anyone else is, per say. I mean, I can’t see this world as anything Christ would want to come back to and celebrate if Christians support war and advocate for the masters of greed and war. It’s not what he taught, in my understanding.

"If there ever comes a time when the women of the world come together
purely and simply for the benefit of all mankind,
it will be a force such as the world has never known." - Matthew Arnold

Look around ... we are living in a time period where we absorb ceaseless amounts of information yet lack any measurable transformation. Families are broken. Marriages are fractured. Our justice system is corrupted. Evil is called good. Good is called evil. Lies are broadcast as truth. Ministers (male & female) are losing their faith and compromising their integrity. Actors and performers have been elevated as role models and heroes. Our environment is sick and unbalanced.

How much more information/evidence do we need to verify the math ... Divided We Fell.

Male + Female (Two Spirits) = All Mankind (One Body) ... United We Stand !

Kimmio, when Jesus returns he will give his elect a new earth and a new heaven.

When there is a renewed Earth that is like heaven, and we commit to that, we will have lasting Peace. Christ is synonymous with Peace. We have to work with God towards a world that is hospitable to “doves”, not predatory. Supporting the present world leadership as it is, the “powers and principalities”, and not allowing for better, doesn’t help.

I don’t believe we are supposed to be here not even trying to build a better world, while cheering on corrupt leaders. I believe we, in the name of Christ/ in the name of peace, are supposed to help God, as a part of the totality of God (in God/ in Christ/ in Peace/ in Life), to sustain life. That is why we are called “stewards”. We are supposed to be steering the ship in the proper direction.

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” - Micah 6:8

Are the revered powerful leaders doing that by example? ...I don’t think so.

We have responsibility to care for the Earth and one another. It was said before Christ walked the Earth, and Christ, in his timeless wisdom, said it himself. And that has nothing to do with being “Christian or not Christian” - other than to be role models lighting a path. If we are not doing that we are not maintaining the conditions for life.

It is not limited to being male or female, Jew or Gentile, slave or free...these labels are not important - Life is important.

Missionaries are called to participate in the missio Dei - to participate in redeeming Earth. We can each best do that by serving the neighborhoods in which we live. I don't expect humanity to have redeemed the Earth before Christ returns. I'm too much of a realist for that.
