At the beginning, God created humans and made them two, and only two, sexes - male and female.

And how sensitive do you two boors think you are being to our mutual friend and neighbour, Rita? Please chastise yourselves appropriately for un-empathetic uneducated idiocy, or some combo thereof.
We didn't start the thread , we all have the right to believe as we do if you don't like it turn the channel

I too am confused ... I heard the line 'and the women divide the plunder' and off I went.

As the story goes ...

Men and women were designed different but equal in image.

Both were empowered to rule the world - together.

Then the fall - separation - turned to rulership of one over the other.

Then the resurrection - reconciliation of men and women - sons and daughters - equal again.

Then the Spirit is poured out on men and women alike.

Then men and women alike serve by their spiritual gifts not according to gender.

In spirit we all serve together ... no gender is more important than another.

It is not about gender. Why are we so stuck in that place?
Because the men have ruled with war and colonial conquest and oppression...they have claimed what’s theirs by killing people who get in their way and or rendering them powerless (it’s not sexist to say, it’s true, that has been the MO)...it has not been equal for almost all of history. If it wasn’t the patriarchy who set those “rules of engagement” nobody would be saying so. Good men need to recognize that and change that pattern...it’s because they too often are not changing it, the other half of humanity remains upset.

And there you have it philosophy leading to gender Wars

It’s true. Why can’t men be men and still be nurturing and caring and not have to prove their dominance, to be “men”... at least in the eyes of men who don’t think the balance needs to shift to be more friendly to life on the planet?
As much as there are evil men in the world there are good men also it's a characteristic of one's heart not what they have between their legs

I think you're creating a false dichotomy there Kimmio.

I think it’s an honest assessment of who has been ruling the world and who has historically set the rules for how it is governed. Just look at the big picture. Women can do everything men can do to keep society functioning, but are often “not allowed”, still. And there are things that men still do - that is still largely the domain of men - that are not necessary at all. Like brute force and unmitigated power to bend others to their will. It’s still men who largely “hold that card”... which isn’t even a game we need to be playing for a healthy planet.

I realize there are good men. But almost all (with a few exceptions of women playing by men’s rules) of the very powerful destructive people have been men. More men have gone to fight and die in wars (by the orders of other men, it should be pointed out)...but war shouldn’t even be an option anymore!

Good men should be upset by patriarchy, too!

God created men and women to have different roles in society and the home. Men are called to be defenders and protectors. That doesn't mean men can't be loving and caring.
