I hear what you are saying here -------and there are many who are wondering where God is in these situations ----it is not rocket science to know people are going to wonder why and where is God in all this ------
It is not as easy as saying God has not been taken out of the schools and then saying bad things just happen sometimes ---as if it is saying well God is there but He just looks on as all the kids and teachers are being killed by a deranged mad person -----
The is a Spiritual explanation in all this ---------and the Bible tells us this ------it starts in Genesis when God created man and gave man complete control over this earth and free will to make choices ------Humans are in control here ----God is Spirit He is not Human and if He were to interfere in these situations without Permission or an invitation from His Human Creation to get involved in worldly affairs by and through Prayers He would be in violation of His own Word of giving humans complete control of this earth ------
And Here is the Thing ------What is meant by taking God out of the schools is we have taken prayer out of the Schools which is the only way to communicate with God ------

Vitale that a prayer approved by the New York Board of Regents for use in schools violated the First Amendment because it represented establishment of religion. In 1963, in Abington School District v. Schempp, the court decided against Bible readings in public schools along the same lines.
Since 1963, Jeynes said there have been five negative developments in the nation’s public schools:
• Academic achievement has plummeted, including SAT scores.
• Increased rate of out-of-wedlock births
• Increase in illegal drug use
• Increase in juvenile crime
• Deterioration of school behavior

So it is not a cut and dry issue just to Say God hasn't been taken out of the Schools -------
God is Omnipresence----which means all-present. This term means that God is capable of being everywhere at the same time. It means his divine presence encompasses the whole of the universe. There is no location where he does not inhabit.
God is omnipotent ----Being omnipotent, God has power over wind, water, gravity, physics, etc. God's power is infinite, or limitless. Omniscience means all-knowing. God is all all-knowing in the sense that he is aware of the past, present, and future.
But it does not mean He can intervene in this in World's affairs without an invitation by the people through prayer ------He would be breaking His own word and that would make Him a lair

Are you asking if all Americans trust God? Because the UUA (parts of it anyhow), American Humanist Association, and others might dispute that.

Sad but too true. Too true. Every week my church puts out a weekly prayer sheet. I wonder how much praying actually gets done off it.
