Pontifex ....... just for clarification ........ are you labeling what I am as sexually immoral?
By extension that would make me sexually immoral......
Second question....... are you labeling transgenderism as sin?
Clarification please......

It's a parable, and certainly a little irreverent for me regarding Jesus' character. It's about an adulterer who didn't hear Jesus say, 'Now sin no more."

But we, who all have sexual sin, have heard it. So what do we do with it?

There was always, I believe, a purpose behind each parable that Jesus told, and truth that he was conveying. What was your purpose for sharing your parable with us brother? What truth were you trying to convey?

Please do not avoid my very direct and clear questions Pontifex.
I ask again for you to clearly answer my questions as they are most relevant to the thread.

It's the gospel Jae, The law kills and Jesus saves. Until we submit to Jesus, we remain under the law. Dead.

Rev up your steam-roller.

It's a parable, you can be the adulterer, you can throw the rock, or be Jesus for all I care.

No matter what I say - you don't hear it.

ok Pontifex ...... I will let the heart shown in your posts speak for you.
Now as for others ..... lets move on to a more sober discussion....

My wife digs really deep holes to plant perennials, I haul away clay and she replaces it with rich soil, bone meal, manure and peat moss so she will have happy plants.

Anyway last night she went so deep, that her shovel hit a clay pot, probably somewhere in the Middle East. She broke open the pot and pulled out a very ancient scroll, and because I am a know-it-all she asked me what it said.

I said give me a minute and I will decipher it. So I took it in the bathroom and clicked a few pictures of it and then used my handy ancient greek translation app to find out what it said.

Interestingly, it was a story of Jesus being brought a woman who was caught in adultery, and he was asked what should be done with her. He, wanting the best outcome, stooped down and started writing all the answers he could think of and the probable outcome of each response. Finally, he stood up and said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Then he bent back down and erased his writing and started writing down things that he might say to her if they did not kill her. Well, they didn’t kill her, but as one of the people who wanted to stone her, shuffled off, he kicked dirt over part of what Jesus had written.

Jesus writing was much like a doctors as even he had trouble reading it sometimes, But he stood up and read to the woman, “ Where are those who condemn you?” She replyed,”None are left, Rabbi.”

So Jesus looked down and read, “Then neither do I condemn you, now go and,” His writing was illegible, beyond that so he just blurted, “Have a nice day”

She ran away gleefully, and he slapped his forhead, because he knew that wasn’t quite right.

A couple days later, the same woman, fleeing the same crowd, for repeating the same crime, ran to the same spot where Jesus had saved her and remembering what Jesus said, she turned defiantly to the crowd and shouted, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

They all looked at each other in amazement and then as one hurled their stones and she was immediately buried in what is still known to this day as Tell Mia Story.

Roughly translates as “The Self-Righteous Sexually Immoral Rock.”

Never know what you will learn with a crazy gardening wife.

Jesus saves us from all sin, but he does require us to turn from that sin and follow Him.

wow m'man, did you write this yourself?

this is good :3

yer quite the writer

Shards of buried light of Christ? Some wonder where do all the visionaries go? Underground partisans as subtle ... some say sublimely ridiculous as seen from the seriously emotional's ID!

Leads one to wish to extract themselves from this realm ... towards some place where people are now-ITs ... that salle-ant ... rheum or Attica impulse towards wisdom ... thus IT goes! In the church in the Wildwood the spirit cauls: come, come come ~~~

Such goings on that are po'lye understood ... poly anna as multiple salty concerns ... them are deep ... to those that skim ... different floaters?

Like Shakespearean humor is this a grouping of demons and not singular character? Common Dunne ... that's' a biblical Joachim ... much rumination ... or Jaw-in .. Jo's ephine nature ... you know norepinephrine as a hoers moan ... knot dead again un-avoidable entanglement with any Q'Loos ... on the remaining boners ... could this been just rapture with the skin of de avoided

I perceive that we don't RitaTG going by both my noticing people's physical appearance as well as what my intuition tells me. Add to that, I simply know no reason why someone who is trans would want to participate in such a conservative church as ours. I'm sure they'd be much happier and accepted at the United church in our neighborhood.

I fear for the kids at your church. I grew up Southern Baptist and a lot of what you say reminds me of that church. Even if the preacher wasn't saying "abomination" others were. Other lies and hateful comments were thrown about as well and kids would hear that. Amongst that number were certainly some who were gay even if none happened to be transgendered. I'm sure they didn't look any different than anyone else. Do you really think you can look at someone and know? No gay person I've known in my entire life "looks gay" especially. By the time they would be aware they were gay they had to stay as deep in the closet as they could or get disowned or worse, of course they're not going to go with a "typical" gay look. Being less common I'm sure that's at least as true for transgendered people.
Every word we speak is heard by those around us and with kids those words are seeds. Will they be seeds of love and acceptance or will they be seeds of intolerance and rejection? If a kid has been hearing rejection since they were in kindergarden and they realize they're gay or transgender in high school, how can you undo a decades worth of poison you've poured into them?

Sorry to hear that there were lies and hateful comments being thrown around at your Southern Baptist church Jon. At my church (which is not Southern Baptist), homosexual and transgender issues (there is a difference) rarely come up. When we do mention them, it is always done in a spirit of speaking the truth in love.
