The Wedding of the year? decade? century?

This mornng I saw on Twitter a photo of a couple who were travelling by subway with their wedding party from the place they were married to the place their reception was being held.

Many here would say that the royal wedding was more beautiful than this wedding. Not me. Not me. I feel every wedding is beautiful, wonderful and special.

I don't think anyone here has argued that the royal wedding is more beautiful than other weddings. Grander in scale, perhaps, but not more beautiful. Ultimately, every wedding done right is beautiful at its core, a celebration of love. That said, it was a good service in many respects and, unlike many other weddings, everyone got to watch and discuss it. Usually you only get to witness weddings you are invited to and its unlikely anyone else from WC2 would be there to discuss it with (ie. AFAIK, no other WC2 folks are invited to my nephew's nuptials in June).

If you arrange an invitation for me I'll open a thread to comment on it.

And that is one of the goods that can come out of these things: promoting the careers of the artists involved. I know my parents and I became instant fans of Kiwi soprano Kiri Te Kanawa after she sang a Handel aria at Charles and Diana's wedding.
one of the benefits of celebrity and privilege indeed
similar thing happens with clothing and hair styles

They just announced on CNN that more Americans watched the wedding

than Brits. I told you @Jae that the US would really like a Royal Family and you disagreed.
and it followed an age-old tradition of when Royalty would to strengthen bonds between rival empires they'd intetempire marry :3

also nice to see people can still enjoy a good time
and loosen up their sphincters (unlike Elton John who looked like he was having constipation issues lol)

Love is social justice?

I guess g_d is love is social justice then :3

(i still haven't listened 2 the service but have watched it with CC and the passion got through; maybe some of the witnesses weren't used 2 such passion? y'know like how showing a Canadian flag here can b seen as too much nationalism? or like how some Canadians react whenenver an American opens their mouth...we just can't handle their passion?)

i really liked the outfit that Amal chose to wear (Clooney *shudder*)

And the lemon chiffon outfit is my favourite. Very striking.

Here’s a thought...Maybe Elton John was actually just having constipation issues at the time. Maybe he had to go. He is a human. Maybe he took some Metamucil, a biffy break, and was ready to Crocodile Rock at the lunch.
