Ouch! That sounds like a vicious decision of his dad.
We will never know. All the grandchildren received $1000....I used mine to help pay for my wedding, my brother gave his to my Dad. Not sure what my two sisters did with theirs or the rest of the family. My grandfather was not rich by any means, it seemed like more of some kind of statement.

Not so good news of the death of an inlaw. Chemguy's dad's side - there's a number we don't really consider family, this is one, but his dad has struggled to not keep an open wallet. This is actually the 2nd time he got news of this guy's death death - first time was ~5 yrs ago around an anniversary date to manipulate for money.

Rather than who is in the will the question is how much will this be costing him - again. Also some trickiness as his dad is a bit alone in grief due to the number of the people who are family who have very different feelings, including those he lives with. Chemguy is at least willing to go to whatever happens if his dad wants to go.

To save on the big bill when making some small changed to my will, I just took the old one as template, put in the changes and then went with my friend as a witness to a lawyer to have the witness signature notarized. Cost me $35. Might be a bit more expensive now, but no need to spend hundreds if it is just some small changes ( new property, one of the people had died before me, son has grown up).

We need to get going on an overhaul of our wills. Now that Little M is graduated and married, there's a lot that we need to change (no more need for an estate trust or guardianship, for instance). Also, need to change our PoAs to add him there.

Imagine there are those that do not do these chores because of deep belief ... that nothing alters! Then Mrs Robinson's spouse was into plastics ... creepy eh? Buried symbolism all over the place like toxins from piro phosphates ... these can devastate genetic constructs ...

Out there ... right? "Nobody, knows, nobody cares" ... according to John Cash on the lady in long dark robes of night and nothing else ...

Conclusion is we're shafted ... a Moses thing ...

Somehow had a major typo, maybe keyboard delay? Fixed now.

There is nothing that is free ... everything costs and thus Gods extract much ... given inflation at the top is more emotional than at the bottom that defines survival of the stacked oddities! Stats ... generally the entire thing goes down dur to imperfection in reality ... perfection is a state of mine ... appears like a gate painted on a brick Wahl ... with hoots and howls ... diversions? Then you know you are up against ide ... the primal unknown!

Just heard yesterday that one of my partner's cousins is near the end of life. The person handling her affairs phoned us seeking contact info for the chosen cemetery. It doesn't seem to be available online so we suggested asking the funeral home. Country cemeteries in SK are VERY quiet and go unused for years sometimes. Many of my in-laws are buried there.
