The bottom line seems to be this: Depression is a major precursor to suicide.

Exactly, and being in a marginalized group, which both trans and indigenous youth do, can exacerbate depression to a horrifying degree. Not to mention struggling with dysphoria as Rita discusses in the video.

Marginalized poverty is the major horrifying degree of 'intersectional depression' around any and all 'other' marginalized groups.

i would be interested in your observations on issues related to Meghan murphy. And particularly your take on self declared, non surgically adjusted trans males and where they fit in the spectrum of female safety related to prisons and shelters

while I understand the issue of acceptance, I am concerned at non surgically changed previous males , who now identify as females, being of danger to biological females. Recognizing that female si; those situations Reoften also females who have suffered at the hands of men

obviously I have some trouble with how to describe people above. I am not intending to hurt anyone with my comments. But I am concerned above all with female safety

is it enough to self declare? Does that mean there is no definition of female? Are we discounting what being female is by accepting anyone who declares as female?
 
In a recent FB posting of anonymous nature ... it was suggested eradicating poverty would alleviate such psychic distress ... but the wealthy can't stand such sacrifices of what they believe is their sol value system ... stoneyness of Jackson-ah? Private Tyez Sion ... vocal iconographic?

Thank you for trusting me with your questions Lastpointe. I know your heart so please don't worry about your wording. We will sort out the essence of your questions.
First lets clear up some terminology. A person that was born with male equipment and identifies as a woman is a trans woman.
M to F = Trans woman.
This is built on self identification regardless of whether or not the person has had 'the operation'. Basically, I did not take hormones to make me a woman, I took hormones because I am a woman. Similarly, I had the operation because I am a woman. Neither hormones nor surgery made me more of a woman.
A person has a right to their gender identity and the right to be housed accordingly. That is the law so there is that.
Now as to whether or not a woman that still has a penis is somehow an extra danger to other women, this has never proven out in fact. The truth is is that the trans woman is at an increased danger risk herself regardless if housed in a male or female facility. The risk to her is less in a female facility but still above the risk other inmates face. Typically, a trans woman is not a risk factor for other women, the reverse is the truth.
Now as for self identification, this is no mere casual flippant thing. The person is measured by qualified mental health professionals. The three indicators are examined, insistent, persistent, consistent. There are a number of checks and balances that must be passed to be considered as a bona fide trans person before being reassigned to a female facility. It is not an easy thing for an inmate to do. Therefore it is not a credible concern to consider trans women as posing a potential risk to other female inmates.

Now concerning this Megan Murphy. She denies the entire transgender identity reality and she measures the validity of whether or not someone is an 'real' woman based solely on plumbing. She discounts and rejects the entire body of historic, scientific, medical, and psychological facts and knowledge that has been amassed defining this reality. One can only speculate on her reasons for doing so but her rejection, disrespect, and disparaging of trans women in the face of such expert evidence smacks of bigotry. My opinion is that her rejection of facts along with the falsehoods and vitrol she pedals is tanamount to hate speech. I for one am not comfortable with her being granted platforms in public institutions as a vehicle for her to spread proven false and damaging information that causes distain for an already severly marginalized and at risk group. As an example, we would not tolerate such speech were it about persons of colour.
I hope this at least in part addresses your questions and again thank you for trusting me enough to ask.

As long as trans people are treated the way they are , driving them towards suicide, the chance that a straight non trans male fakes to be trans to get access to female bathrooms and institutions to take advantage of females should be fairly slim. Not that it would be impossible, because it seems today that sick minds happen in all kinds of varieties, but still unlikely. After all, it still is easy to be a rapist, stalker, groper and males don’t need to fake anything and get away with it most of the time.

There was an issue several years ago in Vancouver. A trans female without surgery wanted to have housing in a rape crisis center. Is that the correct spot? What about women who have been raped and are afraid of men. And as I recal the Center lost their funding

there needs to be some other spot. Many women are afraid of men

I too am uncomfortable with meghan Murphy but I am pleased the TORONTO libraries did not shut it down. If we don’t have free speech where are we as a society.

And of course I get that individual issues can’t be the ones that create rules but there was also the rapist turned self declared trans female who was housed with the female population and charged again with several counts of rape of fellow prisoners

again, surely women , whether natural born or surgically altered , need protection

i am worried that in our acceptance oriented society we somehow have allowed the word woman to become meaningless
 
There is free speech and the freedom of naivete ... unless you abide by the ignore function that allows much to pas unheard!

Both of these instances are examples of poor gatekeeping. Once again the knee jerk reaction is to exclude a trans woman simply based on genitals. The vast majority pose no risk whatsoever. I am all for prudent and diligent screening based on risk. That needs to be the criteria. I hope this makes my position clear
 
Hi Rita! Haven't seen you for quite some time - you've been on my mind this week & just thought I would let you know. Hoping all is well. C.
 
She was getting scarce in any case due to being busy with her trans advocacy and also personal stuff. I don't think she ever announced she was leaving per se but her profile shows she has not visited in 2 years, so I think that it is a safe bet she has moved on.

EDIT: CBC did a story on her on Transgender Day of Remembrance last Fall so she is still around and active in the community, just not here.

 
There is an air of dislike for alien concerns and thus this type of psyche is disposed ... or driven elsewhere!

Such comments may also indicate why the cosmos is broken up into strange fields and Wahls!

Then mental walls are significant ... ever try and penetrate a totally privatized Wahl? There is a myth that in good time such things collapse ... and we enter the realm of a vast mind zone.

May explain why imperialists put down socialism and collectivism for their public benefit as unseen by the generative naivete ... a stupendous process including some spectacular numbing ... thus some have no feelings of guilt ... a mysterious psychotic state in Christian Idealism ... then it gets complicated as despised by those searching simple power ... opposed to the deposed power of psyche!

I believe Rita is active and, yes present in places she needs to be and they her. She lives here and her church
just reopened after a fire took it out during the pandemic. They just started services there a few weeks ago.
I imagine as Mendalla says she is busy as she is in demand at times.
