RIP, Nobel laureate Alice Munro

We received the sad news today that the great Canadian short story writer Alice Munro has died at 92. She apparently began writing as a teen and focussed exclusively on short fiction, producing 14 collections over her career. A decade ago, at 82, she was named winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Of course, she won a raft of other literary awards both domestic and International. Sad to see her go, but she has left quite a legacy.

Less than a month after this, I visited the Nobel Museum in Stockholm on my recent vacation. In the shop, they have a book store where they sell books by literature laureates. They had a nice selection of Munro's work ... in Swedish.
