If the well-to-do can volunteer for their Country Club executives ... why not for the greater good?

I get criticized for looking after a cemetery ... but will anyone do it? So much chit to put away in the sense of bad talents ... that spent their whole life for themselves alone ... demons gather differently! Republics hate it!

I read the report. From information in the report, I wonder if the numbers are so bad because the special events did not have a high success. If the special events were about raising public awareness, they might have had an important and valuable educational outcome. It looked as though the fundraising side which realized donations had a much better ratio for administrative and fund raising costs.

What would you consider to be a valuable educational outcome for breast cancer. For other cancers. Or health issues.
For me it would be things like,

Awareness of the need for screening and diagnostics
Awareness of possible symptoms and when to see a doc
Awareness of the need for a healthcare system that supports early screening, diagnosis, and treatment

I could probably add more.

Sometimes, though, I think the best education comes in less formal ways. I know Floor Jansen used her breast cancer to put out the message about the value of screening since it was Sweden's early screening program (they start at 40 rather than 50) that meant her cancer got caught early. She's got a fairly big audience in Europe and her story might resonate more than something from an organization.

Interpretation of data is a large divide in the outcome ... emotional bias is preferred over tough data ...

It's just how it goes down the toilet when controlled by desirous leaders without psyche ... chez out ...

Events that include information about reducing the probability of getting breast cancer such as life style changes, supports for women with cancer, the importance of special ultrasounds for women with dense breast tissue, advocating for research and treatment research and provisions of health care, support networks, and much more are possible. Events that encourage supporting other programs related to breast cancer would be good. Most of this seems unlikely to come from most fund raising events, but are possible. I suspect the events were mostly feel good events but I am hopefully wrong.

We must accept the onus of total failure as a race we chose emotions over intelligence and thus we are out of luck for improving conditions ... negative psyche?

Imagine starting all over again with only history for a reference ... yet what did history do for us in the past as a virtue of incoherence!

Events that include information about reducing the probability of getting breast cancer such as life style changes,

While lifestyle has an impact getting cancer is still a crap shoot. So many variables are involved. You can think you're doing everything to prevent cancer. It does not make you bulletproof.

I suspect the events were mostly feel good events but I am hopefully wrong.

That's my view of many events.

One thing that will make an impact is more research in treatments for metastatic cancers. That will ensure more people will survive.

Cancer is a crap shoot, but research shows the odds can be improved.

I hope the antibody research in particular can make progress in dealing with metastatic cancer. My father died from GI cancer. The doctors could not find the original cancer but the large tumors that kept forming in his liver tested as GI cancer. The liver prevented the cancer cells from going elsewhere.

So I was just making my annual donation to Movember to support my little bro and looked at their financials. 78.6% worldwide goes to men's health (so 21.4% to admin and fundraising) while in Canada it is actually higher, 82.3% (17.7%). So pretty good, really. Note that this covers not just prostate but also other male-specific cancers like testicular and penile.

The brain is said to be the most mysterious organ and thus much feared ... causes considerable Mystery Disease due to warps and bent nucleic acid joints ...

Few grasp the connections as Glion's and axions ... they are said to be tenuous as they may be unchanged throughout life ... that's the word! It may be questioned over time ... you cannot observe these with a naked eye as raw or rye ... extant lens required ...

How does this fit with the topic?

How does this fit with the topic?

Just ponder it a bit ... maybe you will never see such a vision! Like the myths about ectoplasm of the sentient device ... said to be a thin dimension ... black networks as David encountered while peering under the stars? Invisible essence , or bhoots of spirit!

One really has to dig into classic words to extract such items of contention in post modernity ... a thing in fine fabrics ... like Gene's?

I look into genes for sign of how mortal have gone wrong ... thus prion research; the hatred of such query has almost ruined by life as people would rather not know stuff embedded in the most alien of organs ... where all peculiar things are prone to connection as a sacred mariage ... Dr. John Dourley!

He was a Jungian ... in another tradition a Junker Vessel ... hypo? Those that prefer shallower existence wouldn't go as far as John did ... thus sublime dudes! some digging and dipping may be prerequisite in classic word!

Builds curiosity ... another strange spirit in between th' years ... lines of the times ... when some consider themselves in the pink while other are bloody undone by great avarice ... and those on top are blind tuits ... alas I'm not supposed to say such thhings according to rule of the pious ... pie TY ... binders? These may include pectines ... in the picking!

Just stray word? Maybe something more of nothing ... positive or negative nothings like an eclectic charge ... with parallel meaning as in paranormal studies of what goes on in thoughts that are disposed ... prodigal stuff! Complex junk!

I bathe in chaos that mortals compound with great will to continue in their ways ... which may appear somewhat devoid of something ...

It is unfortunate that some people do not respect others.

I agree. I was surprised at how I felt about gibberish in this thread. I don't worry about it elsewhere. It was hurtful here. That surprised me. Perhaps because sometimes it seems people don't understand some cancers or have kooky ideas about it. It made me reflect.
